Both the United and AAdvantage shopping portals are going to be running holiday bonus promotions. They have been giving select members early access to the promotions, however they are not yet open to everyone.
United MileagePlus Shopping
PDX Deals Guy sent over the details of United’s portal promotion since he was targeted with early access. Here are the terms:
During the “Holiday Early Access” bonus campaign, which runs from November 6, 2015 through November 24, 2015 at 11:59:59 pm ET (the “Bonus Period”), Member will receive a one-time bonus of up to 6,000 bonus award miles on qualifying purchases, in addition to the standard miles earned from shopping online through MileagePlus® Shopping.
Earning Structure
- 500 bonus miles for qualifying purchases of at least $150
- 1,500 bonus miles for qualifying purchases of at least $350
- 3,000 bonus miles for qualifying purchases of at least $650
- 6,000 bonus miles for qualifying purchases of $1,250 or more
This deal should be going live to all members either today or tomorrow.
AAdvantage eShopping
I was targeted for early access to the bonus on the AAdvantage portal. Here are the details:
During the “Holiday Early Access” bonus campaign, which runs from 11/8/15 through 11/26/15 at 11:59:59 pm ET (the “Bonus Period”), Member will earn a one-time bonus of up to 5,000 AAdvantage® bonus miles on qualifying purchases, in addition to the standard AAdvantage miles earned from shopping online through AAdvantage eShoppingSM mall.
Earning Structure
- 450 bonus miles for qualifying purchases of at least $150
- 2,000 bonus miles for qualifying purchases of at least $550
- 5,000 bonus miles for qualifying purchases of $1,200 or more
I expect this promotion to go live to the public on November 10 based on the language in their email to me.
Other Portals
Most of the loyalty portals including these two are run by Cartera. In the past they have run similar promotions across most of their portals, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see some of the other branded portals release very similar promotions. I’ll make sure to cover them here on Quick Deals.

Does Cartera generally award points if you use a different CC to pay for the purchase? I.e. I use the UA portal to buy stuff from petco and I pay with my Citi Card.
do portal offers like this exclude sale price items such as black friday deals?
I got targeted to get an extra 5,000 SW Rapid Rewards after $10K spend between Nov 1 and Jan 31. I had to activate the promo. Won’t be hard to do since I’ll be finishing my companion pass spend.
Yuck. $10k spend for 5k RR is a lot worse than the United and AA offers. Hope maybe they’ll have a better public offer here in a few days.
