CLEAR+ frequently runs promotions where you can earn bonus airline miles, Uber promo credits, etc. for signing up for the service. That can be a great deal, especially if you have a credit card that reimburses you for the service.
CLEAR+ is currently offering a $10 discount for all Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan members, dropping it from the (recently increased) price of $209, back to $199 (which is what it was until recently.
Even better, Mileage Plan members with some level of MVP status earn 1,500 bonus miles when signing up, but perhaps even more interestingly MVP members can earn 1,250 bonus miles when renewing or reinstating their accounts.
The Deal
- Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan MVP, MVP Gold, MVP Gold 75k and MVP Gold 100k members earn 1,500 bonus miles when enrolling in CLEAR+ for the first time. They then earn 1,250 bonus miles when renewing or reinstating their CLEAR+ account.

Key Terms

Quick Thoughts
CLEAR+ has run some very generous bonuses when joining in the past. In comparison to those, 1,500 bonus Alaska Airlines miles isn’t a tremendous offer, but it’s still better than nothing.
It’s the other part of all this that’s a lot more notable. Up until now, I don’t remember CLEAR+ rewarding subscribers for renewing or reinstating existing memberships – only offering rewards for new signups. If you have MVP status, linking it to your existing CLEAR+ account (if you have one) is a no-brainer.
To link your Alaska MVP details to an existing CLEAR+ account, you can either send an email to memberservices@clearme.com and include your Mileage Plan account number, or you can do an online chat on the CLEAR website. The online chat feature initially has you chatting to a bot, but after stating that you want to link your Alaska account to your CLEAR+ account, it’ll ask if you want to be put through to a live agent who can do that for you.
Several other airlines – United, Delta and Hawaiian – all have a partnership with CLEAR+ where you can get a discount on the membership fees. It’ll be interesting to see if one or more of those partnerships becomes enhanced with the ability to also earn bonus miles for new and/or renewing plans.

For people with an existing membership, you can cancel your membership through the website in order to renew again for this offer.
if you do that, what happens to the fee you’ve paid and gotten reimbursed for already by your credit card? And if you then renew and charge it to the same credit card, will you get Clear’s entire fee paid for?
It will refund to the card you used to pay for it and might cause your credit to be clawed back.
