Safeway released a bunch of great gift card deals last weekend and they’ve added another digital coupon today which gives the opportunity to buy a Visa gift card and make an instant profit.

Based on the wording of this offer, I believe this will work on variable load gift cards. That’s great because it means that not only will you make an instant profit, but you’ll also rack up almost $500 of spend.
That could be particularly helpful right now seeing as so many cards are temporarily offering bonused spend at grocery stores, such as the Chase Freedom and lots of other Chase, Amex and Citi cards.

Yes, these work at Von’s as well as they are part of Safeway. Just be VERY careful on the $500 cards as I’ve bought cards being very careful and checking the package and still a scammer managed to check the card and put it back in. I changed the PIN as I needed to use it the next day and by the next day it was already fraudulently used. It’s happened to several people I know.
What happens is a thief steams open the package and then sees the information and when you activate it, they get notified or keep checking and then they drain the value. So immediately drain it. Also, make sure to keep all the receipts of the purchase, packaging, etc.
I did get the company to replace the card at no charge to me but I had to fill out a bunch of paperwork and luckily I kept the receipt, etc.
This seems to be a big problem in Southern California. Especially at Von’s stores.

I just looked up Safeway as we don’t have any near us. Since Safeway is part of Albertsons, is this deal good at all Albertsons stores, specifically Shaw’s and Star markets?
