There are at least two new, targeted Amex offers out that gives an extra 4-5x when shopping at Amazon.com. These happen every year near Prime Day and tend to go fast. I’d recommend signing in and adding them sooner rather than later as these offers usually disappear quickly.
There are probably more variations than the two that I have listed below. If you find something different on one of your accounts, put it in the comments and we’ll add it to the post.
The Deal
There are at two new Amex Offers for Amazon.com:
- Get an additional 5x Membership Rewards points at Amazon.com purchases (1,500 bonus points max) with a targeted Amex Offer. Enrollment required.
- Get an additional 4x Membership Rewards points at Amazon.com purchases (3,000 bonus points max) with a targeted Amex Offer. Enrollment required
- Both offers expire 8/30/24
Key Terms
- Offer valid only for purchases made at Amazon.com and via the US Amazon mobile app using your enrolled eligible American Express Card after enrollment and prior to 8/30/2024.
- Excludes corporate gift card and custom-designed gift card purchases.
- Not valid at international sites owned and/or operated by Amazon or websites affiliated with/linked to/from Amazon.com.
- Excludes Prime memberships and auto-renew subscription services.
- Offer not valid for Amazon Go, Amazon Local, Amazon Mechanical Turk, Amazon Web Services, Amazon Home & Business Services, Amazon Currency Converter, Home Services, Prime Photos, Amazon Inspire, Amazon Video Direct, Amazon business, Amazon Global, or Amazon Drive.
- Valid only on purchases made in US dollars.
Quick Thoughts
These bonuses top out when spending $300 or $750, a slightly higher limit than we’ve seen on recent Amazon offers. Neither of them are world-beating, but each one is still a nice, easily-attainable sweetener for Amazon spend, especially with Prime Day coming up in a couple of weeks.
Regular gift card purchases, from either Amazon or from third parties, will earn bonus points. The only gift cards excluded are corporate or custom-designed cards.
I definitely recommend checking for this one sooner rather than later…the Amazon offers usually disappear fairly quickly. Usually, Amazon will have several variations of targeted Amex offers out at the same time, so let us know if you see a different one.

The DOC link worked for me to get 40% off up to $40 using 1 MR point: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/amazon-get-20-40-off-on-amazon-when-using-1-membership-rewards-point-max-30-40-discount/
How do we find if we have these offers? where on amazon.com do I look?
I got this one, “Spend $400 or more, get 1,500 Membership Rewards points, up to 4,500 points” with this “Get 1,500 additional Membership Rewards® points by using your enrolled eligible Card to spend a minimum of $400 in one or more purchases online at Amazon.com by 8/30/2024. Limit of 4,500 total Membership Rewards points. See terms.”
I got the 5x offer on P1 and P2 cards. The language was a little confusing: “Spend $100 or more, get 500 Membership Rewards point, up to 1,500 point. Details: Get 500 additional Membership Rewards points by using your enrolled eligible Card to spend a minimum of $100 in one or more purchases online at Amazon.com by 8/30/2024. Limit of 1,500 total Membership Rewards points.” So if I spend $100 three times I get 1,500 points. But I’m not clear what happens if I spend $300 at once. Would that trigger 3x 500 points or just 1x 500 points?
That is confusing. Yes, I would assume so, given that it says “in one or more purchases.” So, there’s no $100 minimum purchase, the points are just awarded at $100 increments. That’s how I would interpret it.
Me too, but the language seemed a bit more convoluted than usual. (I started to say I was probably overthinking it, but then I remembered where I was… lol…)
I have the same offer on AMEX Gold for P1, P2 did not get the offer on any cards.
Raced to log into my Amex account. Nada across 9 cards.
Nothing across 3 cards here
