Amazon is offering a new promotion for American Express consumer cardholders: Spend $50 on items shipped & sold by Amazon and get $20 off a future “Amazon moments” purchase (which is a list of something like 60,000 items with 4-stars or more). This is probably a very good deal for most who can take advantage.

Quick Thoughts
Again, this isn’t quite as good as the usual straight percent or dollar-off promos, but it looks like there are plenty of items included in the list of stuff that qualifies for the $20 off coupon.
The Amazon Moments store is supposedly “curated items with 4-stars or more” in terms of their reviews, but as DoC notes, there are so many items that it seems they must have an army of curators approximately the size of an algorithm.
As the parent of a toddler, all I needed to see was DoC’s link to batteries. I’ll take twenty bucks in free batteries even if they were a couple bucks overpriced to begin with. There’s plenty of other stuff you probably want or need. Again, even if we guess that the Amazon Moments store is 20% overpriced, this still represents good discount overall (and I have no idea whether it’s overpriced, I just pulled that number out of thin air as an example).
This should apply to any Amex consumer cardholder as there is no language about it being targeted. Note one odd restriction that I bolded above: checking out via 1-click will not count. You need to add qualifying items to your cart and check out that way. Odd, but worth keeping in mind. While
Overall, I’m in on this one.
H/T: Doctor of Credit
It looks like the promotion ended – probably reached its limit of participants.
You got a chuckle out of me with “an army of curators approximately the size of an algorithm.”
Not sure if Uber gift cards sold by ACI works on this one
Should anything rated 4 star or higher and sold by Amazon be “Amazon Moments”? No way I’m going to dredge through all that junk.
