(EXPIRED) American AAdvantage eShopping & United Mileage Plus Shopping portal promos

There are new airline shopping portal promotions out today from American Airlines AAdvantage eShopping and United Mileage Plus shopping. While these portal bonuses are relatively small, it’s always worth knowing about these so you can account for the extra miles when comparing shopping portal rates. Keep in mind that while American Airlines miles earned from the purchase itself (the payout shown for the specific store you choose) count as both redeemable miles and Loyalty Points, general portal bonuses (like the extra 1,000 miles for $400 in cumulative spend across all stores) are redeemable miles only (you will not receive 1,000 Loyalty Points).

American Airlines AAdvantage eShopping: Earn up to 1,000 bonus miles

• LinkDuring the “New Year Bonus” offer, which runs from 1/8/2024 through 1/15/2024 at 11:59:59  pm ET (the “Bonus Period”), Member will earn a one-time bonus of up to 1,000 AAdvantage® miles on qualifying purchases, in addition to the base AAdvantage® miles earned from shopping  online through the AAdvantage® eShoppingSM mall.
• This one-time bonus award will be  determined based on Member’s cumulative qualifying purchases made during the Bonus Period  using one of the following tiers:
  • Tier 1 bonus: 500 bonus miles for qualifying purchases of at  least $200; or
  • Tier 2 bonus: 1,000 bonus miles for qualifying purchases of $400 or more.
