Quick Thoughts
The American Airlines bonus might be of interest for people who are working on earning status in the AAdvantage program. While you won’t earn a corresponding number of Loyalty Points as the miles you get from the bonus, you will earn Loyalty Points from the base spend.
As for the Alaska Airlines and United portals, they have a feature that makes it easier to hit the spending thresholds. Both those portals offer a card-linked program that earn you bonus miles when shopping in-store at participating retailers rather than only being able to make purchases online. That can be particularly useful if you’d rather shop in-store at retailers like GameStop, Boscov’s, Carter’s and more.

I used to score all these quickly and easily by buying VCG’s on giftcards.com , a site that doesn’t show up at the portals anymore. Are there stores similar to giftcards.com that make it easy and quick to score these?
Nothing to say about the portals, but I did see something very concerning on the Alaska website today. I saw business class flights from West Coast U.S. pricing at 120k miles one way on JAL. I look at these pretty consistently and JAL ALWAYS prices at 60k miles. There were still days woth 60k miles available but even more with 120k miles. I had never seen this before and it shows me that some sort of dynamic pricing is here on that redemption. Another major devaluation imho.
