Update: It looks like Amex has killed all of the 200k referral links. If you have one that still works, please e-mail us.

So much for the Amex Points Parade™ slowing down. Earlier today, Amex made some significant changes to the personal Gold card, increasing the annual fee, adding credits. At the time, it also brought back a stellar 90K referral offer (for the consumer Gold).

But it hasn’t stopped there.

We’re now seeing a referral offer for the Amex Business Gold the gives a whopping 200,000 Membership Rewards points after $15,000 in spend. This is the first time that we’ve seen the Business Gold crack 200K and the offer is double the current affiliate version of 100K that you’ll see on most points and miles sites. It’s so good, in fact, that it’s now the #1 credit card offer on our Best Offers Page.

This Business Gold card welcome offer has “once-in-a-lifetime” language and is officially not available to those who have or have had the card before.

We’ll be collecting reader referral links for those who were targeted so we can share them with others on our Best Offers Page. The details on how to participate with your link (if you are targeted) are below.

Quick Thoughts

If you’re in 2-player mode and one of you has the 200K referral showing on your card, applying via a household referral would be even better, with a total haul of 225K – 240K Membership Rewards, depending on how much your referral bonus is. That’s a lot of cheddar

Although this offer is absolutely stellar, we’re still seeing a targeted 150K offer that’s available to some folks, as well as a 155K offer with no lifetime language. As of writing, those versions are still showing the old minimum spend of $10,000, which might be more appealing for some, as it’s $5K lower and actually has a higher rate of return on the spend. If that’s you, it’s worth seeing if you can generate either one before applying for the 200K.

This referral offer is targeted, meaning that only some Business Gold card holders have the ability to generate a link for it — but the offer itself is publicly available to anyone applying through a qualifying referral link (like the one on our Business Gold card page). Those cardholders who have the ability to generate a 200K link will see it advertised in the “refer a friend” section of their login — it shows the bonus that you’ll get as a Business Gold cardholder and that your friend will get 200,000 points (whereas most of us only have a referral offer for 100K points for our friends).

We want your 200K offer referral links

Here at Frequent Miler, our Best Credit Card Offers page always links to the best available welcome offer, even if that’s not an affiliate link. The best offer for the Amex Business Gold card through affiliate channels is currently only 100,000 Membership Rewards points, that’s why you’ll see many other points and miles sites hawking that inferior version.

However, we always present the best offer for new applicants, even when it doesn’t benefit our site through affiliate commissions. We want to share the wealth by using readers’ referral links on the site. We will need reader links for the 200K offer.

If you’d like to have your referral link shared on the Best Offers page, here’s what you need to do:

Step 1: Check your referral link

You can find your referral link here, or by logging in to your American Express account and scrolling down to the ‘Refer A Friend’ link at the bottom of the page and clicking on that. Note that you might need to change your card at the top of the referral page so that your Amex Platinum card is selected.

Before sharing your referral link, please ensure that it generates a link to the offer giving new applicants 200,000 Membership Rewards points after $15,000 in purchases. Not all cardholders can generate the superior offer, so please check first.

Step 2: Join the Frequent Miler Insiders Facebook group

If you’re already part of our Facebook group, you can skip this step. If you’re not a member though, you’ll need to join this group. Note that you’ll be asked a question or two (depending on if you try joining on mobile or desktop) to ensure you’re not a bot. Please answer that question(s), otherwise you won’t get admitted to the group in order to do step 3.

Step 3: Share your link on the dedicated thread

We have a dedicated thread set up to share your 200K link, so please only share your referral links here as a reply to the first comment. We’ll then work our way through the links for as long as this increased offer is only available via referrals. We will rotate through links there regularly to try to give as many readers as possible a chance at picking up a referral bonus.

Please don’t share your referral link as an individual post in the group as it’ll just get deleted. Please also don’t share a non-200K referral link as that’ll get deleted too.

Comments on the blog with links automatically get caught in our spam filter and will not post. Instead, the above Facebook thread is the only place we’ll be accepting referral links (sorry if you’re not on Facebook).

Does anyone know whether pre-paying taxes on this card would qualify for SUB spend?

Pdxresident

Data point, I clicked a 200k referral link here a few days ago but did not complete application. Logged back in to my amex account today and had a pop up to complete the application and its 200k points with only $10k spend.

FIPhile

I had opened a business gold in late 2022 and received the sign up bonus at that time. In mid 2023 I received an upgrade offer on this account to the Business Platinum which came with it’s own SUB, which I accepted, completed the required spend, and received the SUB. When I saw this offer I figured it wouldn’t hurt to try to sign up despite the no lifetime language, because AMEX will typically fore warn you if you are not eligible for the sign up bonus and will ask if you want to continue with the application or cancel it. To my surprise, I did not receive this message in the course of applying, but I did encounter another, similar message, which I’ve never seen before:
“Congratulations! You’re Approved. Final Step: Accept your Card below! There has been no impact to your personal credit score up to this point. If you choose to accept the Card, the information we provide to credit bureau(s) may impact your personal credit score. If your business has a business credit score, there may be an impact to it as a result of having summitted your application. For your protection, your application will time out after 20 minutes of inactivity and be considered withdrawn and cancelled.”

I accepted the approval. Time will tell if a sign up bonus will be awarded after completing the minimum spend. I’m curious if anyone else has been in a similar circumstance that would be willing to share a data point?

Points and Miles Doc

Saw this in the FB group and got one for P2. Thanks for your links folks!

Greg

Approved instantly! Amex has been on a roll lately with these massive offers.

The referral link given is erroring out upon submitting application with all details – not sure if it’s because of the link (or) some other reason… is anyone else facing this issue ?

Vaidy

Sorry ! It didn’t work on Chrome but worked on Brave ! Popup jail though 🙁

Anyway, thanks for the referral link !

Andrew

Just snagged the 150K offer a few weeks ago! The extra $5K in spend would have been a stretch though so probably works out better anyway.

I often purchase my electronic products from B&H. Does B&H count as one of the “Electronic goods retailers or software and cloud system providers in the U.S.” for the 4x bonus multiplier?

Kevin

It doesn’t. It has to be direct and resellers. So places like Apple or Dell. They have a list in their site.

Ethan

I had this card several years ago. If I’m not eligible, Amex will call it out before I submit my application for the hard pull?

Travis S.

Yep, they will let you know if you are approved and eligible for the bonus before actually doing the credit check.

Mflo

Would love this card but most of my spending is overseas. Any data points that international spend counts towards bonus categories?

Jay

It does. I spend at restaurants on my personal gold and I would safely assume that they are categorised identically on both the personal and business cards. Restaurant overseas = 4x BUT. It all ultimately depends on how the establishment / merchant has coded their business. In India/ Middle East many people use a different code because of how their business is set up and local Business operation/setup laws. Most of the time it codes correctly.

To piggy back on the Amex Business Gold 200k offer, the Blue Business® Plus Credit Card has a 50,000 Membership Rewards point offer for an $8,000 spend in the first 3 months at the moment. With a $0 annual fee, that’s a pretty nice option too.

Kevin

Is the Blue Business Plus also from certain referral links only?

Adam Hansen

I don’t think you need a referral. I see it on their business card page without being logged in. https://www.americanexpress.com/us/credit-cards/business/business-credit-cards/

Stephen Pepper

That’s a targeted offer as I’m only seeing 15k for the Blue Business Plus on that page.
