Quick Thoughts
Amtrak normally offers two points per dollar for Guest Rewards members, so this promotion means you’ll earn four points per dollar. While 4x might not sound amazing, not all points are created equal and Amtrak points are some of the most valuable travel points you can earn.
Earning 4x is therefore a decent return on your spend if you were going to be making any train journeys in the next six weeks, although not enough to make it worth choosing train travel over driving or flying if that’d be cheaper and/or more convenient.
