Delta launched a promotion last week for 10% bonus MQDs in economy class (Main Cabin) or 20% bonus MQDs in Comfort+ and First Class when you register and book select flights to/from the Pacific Northwest by February 1, 2024 for travel from February 2 through March 15, 2024. While 20% more MQDs probably wouldn’t sway me toward booking with Delta, I imagine that this will be attractive for someone chasing elite status. Don’t forget to enroll in the promotion if you’re looking to earn these MQDs.

The Deal

  • Delta is offering the chance for SkyMiles members to earn 10% additional MQDs on Main Cabin purchased tickets (Basic Economy excluded) and 20% additional MQDs on Delta Comfort+ and First Class (Premium Cabin) purchased tickets when you register and then book by February 1, 2024 for travel between February 2 and March 15, 2024 on the following routes:
    • Flights originating in the U.S. 50 to Seattle (SEA), Boise (BOI), Eugene (EUG), Spokane (GEG), Medford (MFR), Portland (PDX), Pasco/Tri-Cities (PSC), or Redmond (RDM); and
    • Flights originating in Seattle (SEA), Boise (BOI), Eugene (EUG), Spokane (GEG), Medford (MFR), Portland (PDX), Pasco/Tri-Cities (PSC), or Redmond (RDM) to U.S. 50.

  • SkyMiles Members (“Members”) will earn additional Medallion Qualification Dollars (MQDs) for select Revenue and Award Travel flights to or from qualifying destinations, that are both marketed (flight number begins with ‘DL’) and operated by Delta Air Lines or Delta Connection® carriers and are booked then flown during the dates specified above.
  • Members will earn 10% additional MQDs on Main Cabin purchased tickets (Basic Economy excluded) and 20% additional MQDs on Delta Comfort+ and First Class (Premium Cabin) purchased tickets.
  • If a ticket includes multiple cabins or product types, the promotional MQDs will be prorated by cabin or product.
  • Travel must occur by March 15, 2024 to qualify.
  • Qualifying flight activity for this offer is limited to itineraries originating or terminating in the following destinations:
    • Flights originating in the U.S. 50 to Seattle (SEA), Boise (BOI), Eugene (EUG), Spokane (GEG), Medford (MFR), Portland (PDX), Pasco/Tri-Cities (PSC), or Redmond (RDM); and
    • Flights originating in Seattle (SEA), Boise (BOI), Eugene (EUG), Spokane (GEG), Medford (MFR), Portland (PDX), Pasco/Tri-Cities (PSC), or Redmond (RDM) to U.S. 50.
  • Qualifying flight activity includes paid (retail) tickets, Award Tickets, Miles + Cash Tickets, Pay with Miles tickets, and post-purchase upgrades (excluding those purchased at check in or at the gate), but does not include travel on partner airlines (even if marketed by Delta), exception fares (including Delta Vacations), purchases of products other than Delta tickets, and any fees associated with travel (e.g., baggage, cancellation fees).
  • If a Member uses an Upgrade Certificate, receives a Complimentary Upgrade, purchases an upgrade offered at check in or at the gate, or receives an operational upgrade, the Member will not earn the Premium Cabin bonus associated with the upgraded cabin.
  • Companions traveling on Delta SkyMiles American Express Companion Certificates are not eligible to earn MQDs, but the paid ticket of the certificate holder will qualify for MQDs.
  • Free, barter, pass travel and other tickets not eligible for mileage accrual will not earn MQDs.

Quick Thoughts

It’s certainly worth enrolling in this if you’ll be buying tickets to or from the included airports. Keep in mind that the email headlined the 20% bonus, but that only applies to Comfort + and First Class (bookings in Main Cabin only earn a 10% bonus).

Keep in mind that award tickets also earn MQDs and thus will qualify for these bonuses, so it’s still worth registering even if you only have award travel booked to/from the included airports.

Works for us SEA DL flyers not chasing the mqd waiver

Laslo Toth

This is a stupid, useless promotion.

No one is going to make the next tier with a 10% on $500 flights for 45 days. Why are they bothering with this?
