If you’re planning a trip to the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island, here’s a way that you could save a substantial amount of money on your stay. Hilton Experiences is once again selling round trip seaplane transfers for 150,000 Hilton Honors points.

The Deal

  • Redeem 150,000 Hilton Honors points for an adult seaplane transfer to Conrad Maldives Rangali Island.
  • Direct link to offer.

Key Terms

  • This experience for one includes adult seaplane transfer (“a return shared”) from Velana International Airport to Conrad Maldives Rangali Island
  • Valid until December 31, 2026.
  • Experience must be booked a minimum of seven business days in advance.

Quick Thoughts

The last time I’d checked on this Hilton Experiences redemption option, they were charging 269,500 Hilton points per person for one of these round trip seaplane transfers. That was poor value seeing as they were at that time charging $675 for those transfers. That would’ve meant getting only 0.25 cents per point of value which was very poor.

With the pricing back down at 150,000 points, it becomes a lot more enticing. It wouldn’t be worth buying the points when they’re on sale as that would cost $750, but it could make for a decent enough redemption if you already have those points in your Hilton Honors account. Assuming seaplane flights are still $675 (they might have increased in price in the last two years), that represents a redemption of 0.45 cents per point. While not necessarily stellar, it’s still far better than our 0.35 cents per point Reasonable Redemption Value for Hilton points.

JustSaying

What a ridiculous scam and then you post this ridiculous scam so that the end result is an enormous amount pf extracurricular unnecessary fees so you eventually say “WHY THE HELL GO THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE?”

Maldives is worth the (usually) long journey to get there. Rangali Island is beautiful; excellent house reef. They had done room renovations within the past few years. Using points for a fifth night free there is ideal. If you have a boatload of points, sure, why not save on the seaplane. Have the Aspire card so you can get complimentary breakfast and daily happy hour with Diamond benefit. Underwater restaurant is pretty cool to try once.

Sam

while i do want to visit Maldives for my 25th wedding anniv, the high transfer fees are steering me towards BB instead. am i wrong?

Lukas

No.

Seaplane and/or boat transfers (and food) are gonna be pricey, nearly anywhere you stay. Major cost-savings is to use points for the nights (think Hilton, Marriott, Hyatt, IHG, Accor). Flights are not cheap (and many route via ME, which, for the last few months have been… not worth the risk, to say the least). Hope you and P2 still get to go, because it’s an epic place, especially to celebrate a major milestone together.

(By ‘BB’ did you mean Bora Bora? I mean, can’t go wrong there, but Air Tahiti from PPT-BOB ain’t cheap either. Still, both are worth it. They renovated Le Meridien to a Westin, St. Regis nearby, too. Better views at those two than at the Conrad there, in my opinion.)

Sam

BB = Bora Bora. Was planning on using Hilton FNC.

Nice. Great use of FNC, if available. Also, consider WA Ithaafushi in Maldives, even check again last-minute as they can open-up the week-of, and you can make changes. Hope you have a few FNCs, because to go the whole way (either Maldives or French Polynesia) for just one night is… wild. There’s also a decent Hilton in Mo’orea. I’m sure you’ve been researching!
