As was first reported by Luxury Flight Club, TAP Air Portugal is selling lie-flat business class tickets from Boston to Madrid, Spain for $700 (or less!) round-trip. This pricing is available this summer from June to August. That’s an incredible price, but it does require two stops along the way. Plus, of course, we don’t yet know if travel will be allowed from the United States by then.
Personally, I’m going to pass on this deal, but I’d be interested in hearing if any readers jump on it. Please let us know!
More info can be found in Luxury Flight Club’s article here and in Secret Flying’s article here.
I had a one-way flight on tap booked for July it got canceled and I just received a credit for future travel from tap which I plan to use this coming year
It’s 1 stop to and from Madrid. The 2-stop flight is for ARN.
I haven’t found any with just 1 stop (I know the referenced post says 1 stop but when I click through the example I see 2 stops). Have you found 1 stop options that price that low?
Sorry. You’re right. I don’t see anything now. After reading other comments here I don’t think I should take the risk anyway. (I’ve flown tap intra Europe though and it was fine)
Given the risk that travel may not happen then and my recent experiences with TAP on a similar refundable ticket I would advise folks to make sure they book this with a CC company that is likely to have your back. I made a refundable business class booking in 2019 for 2020. I then proactively sought a refund as COVID closed down Europe earlier this summer as allowed by the terms of the ticket. I heard nothing from TAP for months and my DOT complaint went no place. Thankfully my CC company gave me a chargeback for the full amount but not everybody including those with the same CC company were so lucky. TL;DR TAP doesn’t honor it own terms.
Same here. We had 2 different trips booked as Top Executive (fully refundable) that I ended up having to go through the credit card to get the $$ back. Never again on TAP.
I heard similar stories from friends booked on TAP. It looks like that airline is a serial offender
Add me to the list of people that got screwed over by TAP. I paid with UR points in the portal, and was unable to get anything back.
