Chase Hyatt Business Card: Increased 75k welcome offer

17

There’s an increased welcome offer out for the Chase World of Hyatt Business card, but it comes with a fairly sizeable spend requirement: you’ll get 60k Hyatt points after spending $5k within the first three months, then an additional 15k after spending a total of $12k within the first 12 months.

This card won’t offer the most points per dollar, but it can be a good fit for big spenders who want a (slightly) easier path to status. If you’re just looking for Hyatt points, don’t forget about the better offers on the Chase Ink Business Preferred, Ink Business Unlimited and the Ink Cash cards, as Hyatt is a 1-1 transfer partner with Chase Ultimate Rewards.

Quick Thoughts

First off, the initial part of the offer is the same as before: 60,000 points after $5k in spend within the first 3 months. The second part is new: an additional 15,000 bonus points after spending $12k within 6 months. So, effectively, you get 15k points for that additional $7k in spend. That won’t be worth it for many folks, but some may find it appealing.

The key benefits of the card are:

  • An “adaptive” 2x that rewards you for your top three spend categories each calendar quarter through 12/31/24 (then the top two categories after that).
  • 5 elite night credits with each $10K spend
  • 10% back on redeemed points after spending $50K in a calendar year (Up to 20K points back per year). Note that the rebate kicks in on stays completed after reaching $50K in purchases.
  • Up to $100 in Hyatt credits: Spend $50 or more at any Hyatt property in the world and get a $50 statement credit up to twice per cardmember year.
  • Discoverist status for the cardholder and the ability to gift that status to 5 employees (those employees do not have to be employee cardholders)
  • Unlike the consumer card, this does not come with an annual free night certificate or annual elite night credits.

If you were able to do the majority of that additional $7k in the adaptive bonus categories, you’d end up with 29,000 points (14k from the spend and 15k from the bonus), or a little over 4 Hyatt points per dollar. You’d also get five elite night credits for hitting $10k on the card. For folks hunting Globalist status, that might be enough of a win to make that $7k worth it. Others will want to just go for the initial 60,000 points.

After the first year, it’s worth considering whether it makes sense to hang onto the card. I continue to keep it since I can easily use the twice-yearly $50 credits and I value the ability to manufacture 5 elite night per $10k in spend. For many, though, the math won’t work out.

Chase's 5/24 Rule: With most Chase credit cards, Chase will not approve your application if you have opened 5 or more cards with any bank in the past 24 months.

Wonder if this also means the consumer version will get an increased offer.

I JUST signed up for the business version, hoping they will match this offer for me. Already sent a secure message

Same question as Amy below – any way to use a Hyatt personal card or any other Chase card to generate a referral for the Hyatt biz card?

Dave Hanson

My hyatt personal cards for me and P2 both generate links for *only* the business card, oddly.

FullMoonMadness

I was approved for this card about a week prior to the increased SUB. I’ve met the minimum spend, but have been unable to get matched to the new offer despite multiple HUCA. Has anyone successfully matched to the new offer?

Palpan

I have had luck getting the increased offer on Chase Bus Ink and Bus IHG by appealing to Chase through a personal/secure message from the account. Like you, I had acquired those cards a week or two prior to the better sign up offer.

Foomb

Same situation–signed up for original offer, tried to match to the 75k one and was told no. I successfully matched 75->90k on my Inks prior, but no dice on this one.

Amy

Can you be referred to the Hyatt Business Card from Chase Business Ink cards?

karma

whats the alternative to earn hyatt points if you are banned by chase (for life i think) – which i am

Dave Hanson

There is Bilt, but other than that, Chase is the only Hyatt game in town, sadly.

Note that depending on the reason you were banned, Chase bans often fade away with time. Perhaps you can get back in their good graces after a few years have passed. Good luck and best wishes if you try!

EruptingLoowit

7ish years but YMMV. If you want to check & don’t want to waste a credit HP, open a checking or savings account in branch. If it stays open until a statement posts, you’re good to apply for a card.

what got you banned out of curiosity?

john

Tim, I feel like you’re missing one of the main benefits of the card – the Hyatt Leverage membership. This can easily save $100+ on an expensive stay, or get you a refundable rate that is about the same as a prepaid rate. Though at some properties it won’t get you anything. I totally overlooked this benefit at first, but if you have paid Hyatt stays it can be great.

john

I had no idea, thanks!

Frank

Just to add: I already have a Hyatt Leverage account for my business, and I get two nights of Elite credit for every $5,000 spent by anyone who uses my leverage code when booking. As John noted, sometimes the leverage rate is the best you can get; other times, it doesn’t save you anything on the stay.

Stacey

Is the 2 Elite nights per $5K spend w/Leverage code open to anyone with a Hyatt Leverage account? I had no idea of this benefit and I use Leverage all the time!

Repeat Offender Captain Greg

Are you going to do a write up of the personal card too? It’s only a 5k increase but it’s the first time it has increased in years. Also, will you have an affiliate link for the personal card? I want to sign up through FM.
