Chase is out with another great offer for using Chase Pay: Spend $20+ at eBags, earn 2,000 Ultimate Rewards points. As is the case with the Walmart.com offer and the Best Buy in-store offer, this works with Chase Freedom, Freedom Unlimited, Sapphire, and Sapphire Preferred cards. Curiously, there doesn’t appear to be a splash page for Sapphire Reserve card holders. If you have a Sapphire Reserve and test this out, let us know your results.
The Offers (click the images below to go to landing pages):
Chase Sapphire cards
Chase Freedom cards
Key Details
- Valid 12/1/17 – 12/31/17
- Must checkout using Chase Pay
- Terms state it could take up to 8 weeks for the points to post (though it’s been much faster with the Walmart/Best Buy offers)
- Terms indicate that you must have received an email to be eligible, but a Doctor of Credit reader saw an ad on Facebook for this promo, leading me to believe that it’s probably open to everyone
Quick Thoughts
This is a nice offer. At the very least, it’s $20 back on $20 as you could redeem the 2,000 Ultimate Rewards at 1c per point. Assuming you value Ultimate Rewards anything beyond 1 cent each, this is a great offer to come out ahead. Keep in mind that there are some other good offers at eBags right now, including an Amex Offer for $25 back on $125 and a Chase Offer on the Marriott/Slate cards for $20 back on $100. However, also keep in mind that many readers reported eBags recently became unwilling to combine gift card purchases on gift cards purchased with Amex cards — presumably to prevent people from stacking a better discount. While a gift card purchase should trigger this offer, you may not be able to combine it with other gift cards (and you can only use one gift card per order), so keep that in mind. Don’t forget to go through a shopping portal and get the best payout possible.

No email. Checked via Secure Message and unfortunately not targeted. Congrats to those who are eligible and thank you for posting!
Same for me!
Anyone able to confirm they can get this deal without receiving the email? Thanks
Yes, Chase Freedom worked for me and I did not get any email. Points are now showing as pending for next statement.
WOW! Thank you again, Nick. 25% off ebags discount + free shipping + $18.95 rewards points from prior Bose headphone deal + 2,000 UR + packing cubes to organize my suitcases + 450 URs for using Chase portal (10 pts). Whew early Christmas for me, you rock!
Can you get this twice if you have both the CSP and Chase Freedom cards?
IF like other Chase Pay deals, yes, that should work. 1 deal per eligible card.
Thanks Nick. I went through the AAdvantage eShopping portal (10x/$) and scored 300 AA miles and 2000 UR points on a $30 purchase.
fyi, you can combine ebags gift cards via chat. I have done that last year to buy Bose headphones
You certainly used to be able to. Unfortunately, as noted in the post, quite a few people reported that eBags stopped doing this during the most recent Amex Offer period. There are a couple of comments on this post indicating as much:
https://frequentmiler.com/2017/11/23/tumi-half-off/
And those weren’t the only reports. One reader forwarded a chat transcript with eBags that included this line from eBags support:
“We are instructed by our Billing team not to combine gift card that are placed through AMEX promotion.”
I’ve combined them in the past as well — but at least in terms of combining gift cards purchased with Amex cards through the Amex Offer, they appear to have stopped doing it. Hopefully it’s only temporary (and certainly report back if you’re able to combine GCs — I haven’t tried combining multiples bought with Chase Offers yet).
I was able to combine two $20 GC from the Chase Pay offer.
check with Chase via secure message, the offer is not eligible for my sapphire reserve card…
How do I find out if I am eligible for my Sapphire or Freedom
