Chase Sapphire and Freedom promo for 10x when using Paze is worth a look

47

Until yesterday, I’d never heard of Paze. Today, I’m very interested.

That’s because Doctor of Credit posted about a promo that Chase quietly added to most Freedom and Sapphire cards that gives you a bonus 10x when you use that card to check out with Paze. The promo is limited to 15,000 points per month (or $1,500 in purchases) and expires on 12/31/26. That’s a potential for up to 105,000 points on $10.5K in purchases through the end of the year.

Currently, the list of merchants that accept Paze is fairly small, but it includes some useful ones, such as United Airlines, Newegg, and Dunkin’ Donuts. Undoubtedly, more are on the way.

The Deal

  • Get 10x additional points on top of your Ultimate Rewards points when you check out with Paze at participating merchants through December 31, 2026.
  • If Paze doesn’t automatically find your cards when you activate your account, go to the Chase mobile app (not desktop), select your eligible card, select “Manage Account,” scroll down, and select “Digital Wallets.” You should see a button to add the card to Paze. (h/t: Brett)

Terms and Conditions

  • From 05/01/2026 to 12/31/2026, you will earn 10 additional points when you check out with Paze at a participating online merchant, on up to $1,500 in total combined purchases each month (thatˇs 10 additional points on top of the points you earn on these purchases in the card rewards program, up to 15,000 additional points each month).
  • Purchases posted to your account with a transaction date during the offer period are eligible for this offer.
  • Please allow up to 8 weeks after qualifying purchases post to your account for bonus points to post to your account.
  • “Purchases” do not include balance transfers, cash advances, cash-like transactions including, but not limited to: travelers checks, foreign currency, money orders, wire transfers, cryptocurrency, other similar digital or virtual currency and other similar transactions; lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, race track wagers, or similar offline and online betting transactions; person-to-person money transfers and account-funding transactions that transfer currency, any checks that access your account, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, and fees of any kind, including an annual fee, if applicable.
  • Paze℠: Existing Chase consumer customers with a digital profile (i.e., if you signed in to Chase Online℠ or the Chase Mobile® app) and have recently made an online purchase using your Chase debit or credit card are eligible for Paze℠ . If you open a new credit card or deposit account with a debit card and have a digital profile, your new card will be automatically added to your Paze℠ wallet.
  • Paze℠ isn’t currently available to Chase customers under the age of 18, business customers, commercial customers, or credit card authorized users.
  • Chase First Banking℠ debit cards, Chase High School Checking℠ debit cards, Chase business credit cards (such as Ink Business℠), and Private Bank credit and debit cards aren’t eligible. Message and data rates may apply.

Quick Thoughts

Evidently, this promo has been live since May 1st, but to my knowledge, Chase hasn’t released any announcement. You’ll find it listed under “Boost your points” in the “Benefits” section of your online account:

When checking out at a merchant that accepts Paze, you’ll see it listed as a payment method alongside things like PayPal, Venmo, etc:

The list of merchants that currently accept Paze is very limited. However, it appears that Chase is putting in some serious effort to promote it, so I imagine that we’ll see the merchant list expand dramatically.

But what’s there is interesting already. Newegg is primarily an online electronics retailer that also sells gift cards, often with promotions. It’s popular among miles and points folks because it earns 4x points when using the Amex Business Gold card, making it a lucrative avenue for buying gift cards for personal use or resale. However, 10x is a heckuva lot more appealing than 4x…and don’t forget you’ll also earn your normal credit card rewards.

For those who spend cash on United Airlines tickets, that means that you could get the excellent travel protections from your Sapphire Preferred® or Sapphire Reserve® cards, and earn 12x or 14x Ultimate Reward points on the purchase when combining the promo with what you get from the card.

As far as I can tell, the terms don’t specify whether the $ 1,500-per-month limit is per account or per card, but my assumption is that it’s per card. This could make the potential ceiling even higher for folks with several eligible cards.

Anyone have a DP confirming that the $1,500 monthly limit is per card?

Rachel

I have an older Freedom card that earns cash back not points. How would that work if I use Paze?

Help! PAZE advertises as accepting StubHub as one of their merchants. I contacted StubHub two times via their live chat with an agent and both confirmed that PAZE is not accepted by StubHub. What’s happening here? Are the agents correct? Or, is there something else that we should know about?

Tim

Make sure your email on the account is identical. I dont know if that works, but I saw that on another thread.

queensgal

Hello. My email on PAZE and STUBHUB are identical. This remains an unsolved mystery!

HELP.. Now I’m a little worried. I charged gift cards on Newegg going through paze but I see the charge on my chase card as Newegg instead of Paze. Shouldn’t the charge be processed as Paze, instead of newegg?

THANK YOU for taking time out on a holiday to answer my questions. Have a great rest of Memorial Day!

I used my Chase app, scanned my ID and was told to call Chase for a code. Phone rep 1 asked me multiple verification questions then tried to get me to scan my license again. I told him I had already done that. he then sent me to rep #2 who asked the same questions and tried to get me to scan again. I asked about scanning my credit card and she told me that the bank won’t accept credit cards thru PAZE, only debit cards. 40 minutes of pain for nothing.

Has anyone else run into issues with being able to see the Paze option at checkout with United? I successfully activated my card through Chase’s digital wallet and set it as my default card on Paze’s website. I have spent over an hour trying to get the the Paze payment option to show up — I’ve tried on United’s app, desktop website, and mobile website, on 5G and wifi. Paze’s website’s only troubleshooting option is to allow pop ups, which I did, and it did not help. There is no way to contact Paze as a user for additional troubleshooting.

Are you booking a cash ticket or award ticket? When I try to book cash it shows up, but for the $550 taxes and fees on an award ticket (same itinerary) it’s not there 🙁

Brittney

I was running into the issue trying to book with cash. I ended up just purchasing it without Paze (since the Paze option never showed up) and contacted Chase about it. I hope you’re able to get it to work!

I didn’t have a problem getting paze to show up for a cash booking on United metal

Larry S

Any idea if this will stack with a portal? I went into PetSuperMarket, and a 4% Rakuten bonus popped up. Would that invalidate the use of Paze?

Quentin

It’s not listed on Paze’s webpage of vendors, but Paze does show up as a payment option on Stubhub checkout. Not sure if only for certain types of tickets, but it gave me 11.5x on CFUL. Already used my CSR stubhub credit for 1H 2026; otherwise would’ve used the CSR for stack.

DP. while checking out w/ Paze @ newegg, Paze had already linked my (3) citi cards (2 premiers and 1 DC), but showed none of my chase cards. within chase app i had to go to a freedom, click digital wallets, and enroll it into paze from there. including scan driver license. it was a bit clunky but once i did it, i could one-click the other cards and add to paze. now they all show in paze when checking out, chase freedom, freedom flex, sapphire preferred, and chase amazon card as well

Jen K

Also had to do this! Thanks for the tip.

Allison

Is the $1500 max per calendar month or billing cycle?

Aunteeeee

This was the exact question I was hunting the comment section for. Thanks for the intel.

Vlad

FYI that “Boost Your Points” section doesn’t appear to be available if you’re using a combo account that has access to both business and personal cards. I had to switch to my personal-only login to see it.

Johnny

I can see it using the login that I have for both my business and personal.

Matt from Philly

Thanks for pointing out the opportunity Tim! This will be a nice way to earn on my current Chase cards and earn welcome offer-like Ultimate Rewards points for 7 months’ worth of maxing out this Paze thing. Perhaps this Paze play can help offset the Hyatt devaluation when using Ultimate Rewards to transfer to the hotel’s loyalty program… or other transfer to other Chase travel partners.

Brian

I’ve had a similar offer on my Chase United card (sent via email) for about 3 months now (20,000 points on $2,000 spend). Paze hasn’t added a single new vendor in those 3 months so I wouldn’t get your hopes up about other options anytime soon.

Yeah, PAZE is not ready for prime time. Too clunky to verify cards. Generally a PIA to use.

Spiderman's girlfriend

I just called Chase and they said if you set it up with Paze payment and use one of the eligible cards, that the extra points are automatic. Tim, do you think that is accurate?

I made a test purchase on one of my cards and the points are there at the same time as the regular points, automatic.

thank you, and the game is on…..!
