Chase United cardholders getting targeted spending offers (e.g. spend $500 & get 1k bonus miles)

Chase United cardholders were targeted with regular spending offers in the first half of the year and that pattern is continuing with a fresh batch of targeted offers.

The Deal

• United cardholders are being targeted for spending offers including:
  • Spend $500 across a minimum of 10 transactions and get 1,000 bonus miles
  • Spend $1,000 & get 1,000 bonus miles
• Direct link to registration.

• To be eligible for this bonus offer, you must click the button in the email or log on to united.com/BonusMonth to register.
• Register by your registration end date, at 11:59 p.m. CT, and your purchases within the promotional period, designated in your personalized offer, will be counted toward the bonus offer requirements.

Quick Thoughts

I was targeted for the first offer listed above – spend a total of $500 across 10+ transactions to earn 1,000 bonus MileagePlus miles. That effectively makes my United Gateway card a 3x card if spending exactly $500 which isn’t bad, but it isn’t a huge incentive to use it either. I could just as easily generate that number of miles by spending just $200 in a single transaction with my Ink Plus or Ink Cash cards at an office supply store and transfer those Ultimate Rewards to United.

Other cardholders might receive more generous spending offers though, so be sure to register to see what – if any – offer you have on your United card(s).

It’s also worth checking to see if your United card is targeted for a separate batch of targeted spending offers on cobranded Chase cards. Those other offers will stack with any kind of United-specific offer you’re targeted for her provided the terms of each offer are met.
