Costco.com is offering a $500 Southwest Airlines gift card for $449.99. This is the regular discount that we see through Costco, but still could be a good value for those with paid travel coming up on Southwest.

Quick Thoughts
There was a period of time where Costco was offering 10% off Southwest gift cards more or less constantly in-store. It’s good to see it back and available online.
This will obviously be a good deal for those who fly paid Southwest flights. The one downside is not being able to earn 3-5x on the airfare purchase, as these will code as a normal Costco purchases. That can be partially offset by using a 2x card like the Costco Visa, the Capital One Venture X or the Capital One Venture Rewards (also remember that you can use Mastercard and Discover on Costco.com purchases).

I’m just tired of Southwest in general now. As much as I spend on flying, I have a hard time justifying flying with SW, unless it’s family travel and I am using my Companion Pass.

By Visa gift cards at Staples for 5x and drive down the road to Costco.
Also, you can buy Costco Cash Cards in Store with Altitude Reserve in Apple Pay for 3X (4.5%). Cash cards work to buy these Southwest Cards online.
Sam’s Club has this same deal as well. I’ve been able to get cash back on buying these at Sam’s via TopCashBack portal. Currently the cashback rate is 2.1%.
