Earn 1500 bonus miles with American Airlines eShopping

American Airlines is offering a an easy-to-earn shopping portal bonus through April 14th. Simply make three separate purchases of $50 or more and you will receive 1500 bonus miles. If you were to spend exactly $50 on each purchase, that would be like an extra 10x — a nice return on your spend.

The Bottom Line

The image says “You’re invited”, but I have opened the link in private browsing windows and see this offer whether logged in or not (and under both my account and my wife’s). Still, the words “You’re invited” indicate that it may be targeted.

While the official terms state that qualifying purchases do not include “gift cards or other cash equivalents”, I suspect that gift card purchases from some stores will likely count. Check the laboratory for stores known to pay out on gift card purchases.

A great way to maximize this bonus would be by using Amex Offers. There are a number of merchants currently offering statement credits with $50 purchases, further increasing your return per net dollar spent.
