Quick Thoughts

As the terms state, this is a targeted offer. My wife appears to be getting all the love from American Airlines as she was targeted for this offer while I wasn’t. That’s on top of the Platinum Pro status they gave her for free a couple of months ago. We unfortunately don’t have any flights planned during the promotion period, but have registered her for the promotion anyway just in case.

Triple miles is a nice offer if you’re targeted for this, especially seeing as it’s for all Business class and First class flights in the next 3.5 months.

Edit: It looks like the offer’s not only targeted, but it also varies. In the comments below, Bill’s mentioned that he received an offer for double miles for Business class and First class tickets after flying four Business class / First class flights during the promotion period.

I was invited to this as well. Once I flew 4 segments I started receiving bonus miles. I am a million miler and fly domestic first class exclusivly so maybe that is why they targeted me.

Andrew

I received this offer but like some of the others, have to take 4 flights. I haven’t been able to determine what counts as a “flight” though. Is it per segment or does one booking count as a flight regardless of the number of segments?

I got the 3x offer with no qualifier. The SO got 2x and no qualifier. May take advantage but can’t see much use for more AA miles.

Isabel

My offer was for 2x miles after 4 flights also. Question, one flight was upgraded to business…think that will work?

Andrew

My offer was 2X with no qualifying flights (so unlike your wife and Bill).

Marshall

I got an offer in December. I get 3x on dining, drug stores, gas, groceries, & travel from Jan 1 to Mar 31. So I’ve been using my AA card a lot more. I think AA/citi are trying to come up with bonus categories to compete with transferable currencies and other credit cards.

Hal

Ugh.. not targets. I just bought 2 J class flights on AA in the last 2 weeks. I’m sure they have no reason to incentive me

M M

I bought one domestic first to Hawaii and one international J to Spain within the last 3 weeks. I was targeted for 3x.

bill

I got 2X for business and first flights AFTER I fly four business/first flights during the time period. No thanks!
