A Fairmont & Sofitel Amex Offer returned today which can save you up to 20% on stays in the US and Mexico.
The Deal
- Spend $500+ on room rate & room charges in one or more transactions at Fairmont and Sofitel properties in the US & Mexico and get $100 back with an Amex Offer.

- Qualifying purchase means a purchase at a participating Fairmont Hotels & Resorts and Sofitel Hotels & Resorts property made during the offer period with your enrolled American Express Card and which is in an amount totaling at least $500 USD as posted to your account, following conversion from a foreign currency, if applicable, in accordance with your Cardmember Agreement.

Quick Thoughts
If you have an upcoming paid stay at Fairmont or Sofitel properties – or award stays where you’ll have a decent amount of incidental spending – having this Amex Offer that can save you up to 20% is a nice discount.
One of the key things to be aware of with this Fairmont/Sofitel Amex Offer is that it’s only valid on stays in the US and Mexico, although there might be a workaround if you’re planning on staying at a Fairmont outside of these two countries. You should be able to buy a Fairmont gift card at the front desk of a property in the US to trigger the statement credit from this Amex Offer and then redeem that overseas.
If you have a P2 with the same offer on one of their cards, you can ask the front desk to split a $1,000+ folio on two cards, or you could buy two $500 gift cards.

Stephen, I wonder if this is combinable with the AM EX Fine Hotel credit?
It should be – sort of. It won’t be triggered by the initial booking as that’s a prepaid booking and I think is processed by Amex Travel. However, if you use that card when checking in and charge $500+ to your room for meals, spa treatments, etc., then you’ll get the $100 back.

Ultimately, the Amex Offer is triggered by a charge by a Fairmont or Sofitel hotel. You could show up at the hotel without a reservation, book a room and pay for your stay with the card to trigger the statement credit, even though it doesn’t say that in-person reservations are eligible.
Those terms are more there to make it clear that you need to be paying the hotel chain directly, rather than booking through an OTA like Hotels.com.
