I’ve really enjoyed my change to T-Mobile last year as it includes free roaming in 140 countries. When I was in China last week, the free roaming was at totally useful speeds (I didn’t do a speed test, but I didn’t notice much lag — though note I do pay an additional fee for unlimited hot spot and higher speeds internationally), and access to things like Facebook and Google services were not restricted on my phone (which came in handy when I had issues with my VPN on the computer). In addition to the convenience of phone service that works upon landing almost everywhere, I love the T-Mobile Tuesdays freebies. This week’s T-Mobile Tuesdays deals have several potentially useful items. See the details below.
The Deal
- This week’s T-Mobile Tuesdays freebies include:
- A fee-free Western Union money transfer (note that credit card payments may trigger a cash advance fee from your bank, so set your cash advance limit to zero before testing this)
- Free 1-night disc rental via Redbox (DVD, Blur-ray or game rental up to $3)
- Free 60-day subscription to GOLD’S AMP (digital personal trainer / DJ workout music mixes)
- Free $25 Restaurant.com gift certificate
- Free FIFA World Cup sticker packet from Panini
Key Terms
- Must claim these in the app by 4:59am May 30, 2018 (though some can be used for a few days after being claimed)
Quick Thoughts
Before you get too excited about a fee-free Western Union money transfer, keep in mind that the reports I’ve read indicate that it will code as a cash advance if you try to use a credit card. That said, you may have other uses for Western Union transfers and if you have multiple lines you should be able to redeem for one fee-free payment per line.
The free Redbox rental is nice if you’ll be passing a Redbox this week. I haven’t used Restaurant.com in a long time — bear in mind that there are usually a lot of restrictions on their gift certificates (including days of the week they are valid, minimum check size, etc). That said, they can still work out well if you find a participating restaurant where the terms fit your needs.
Don’t forget to claim these in the app before 4:59am Wednesday. See each individual deal’s terms for length of validity once claimed.
