Chase launched a couple of new transfer bonuses today. One of them is giving a 20% bonus when transferring Ultimate Rewards points to Air Canada Aeroplan, with this bonus stacking with the 10% bonus that Chase Aeroplan® credit cardholders benefit from.

Quick Thoughts
Chase tends to run Aeroplan transfer bonuses a couple of times per year, usually in the 20%-30% range. Historically, those transfer bonuses have occurred in June and December, so it’s mildly interesting to see it appearing a little earlier this year.
Even though this latest bonus is on the lower end of the scale at 20%, it does stack with the transfer bonus benefit that Chase Aeroplan cardholders get. As a reminder, Aeroplan cardholders get a 10% bonus when transferring at least 50K Ultimate Rewards to their Aeroplan account which is capped at 25K bonus points per year (i.e. maxing out when transferring a total of 250K points).

I use aeroplan pyb sometimes, I just got ready to move 50k- before I did so, I looked back to past history and calculated there was no likelihood of any transfer before June at the earliest, so I decided to go ahead and transfer now. But then I got distracted and delayed it – !! So glad I didn’t transfer!
With the transfer bonus this allows you to cash out UR via Aeroplan for 1.625cpp. (50k UR=65k aeroplan = $812.50). Not as good as 30% transfer bonus but still by far the best pyb in the chase ecosystem – and I think in any ecosystem? Can you think of a better pyb anywhere? Closest is 1.5cpp for some charities and 1.6cpp for United AF? This is of course much more flexible. We’re using it to cover some Disney tickets via undercovertourist.
is there a cap on the 20%?
Usually no. Im pretty sure you are fine up to 500k.
