Quick Thoughts
This Chase Offer came just a few days late for me as just last week we booked a pet sitter using Rover to take care of our pup for an upcoming trip. We might need to book another Rover stay before the end of June though, so hopefully we can still make use of this.
If you’re not familiar with Rover, it’s like an Airbnb for your pet(s). Pet sitters offer their services which range from boarding in your home, boarding in their home, walks, check-ins during the day while you’re at work, etc. Pet parents leave reviews for the pet sitters, so we try to book with sitters who have many reviews and repeat customers.
Overall, we’ve had a good experience with sitters we’ve booked through Rover, although the last one we used here in the UK wasn’t great. That said, we booked sitters through Rover all over the US while we were on our 50 state road trip and our dog seemed to be very well cared for.
If you have this Rover Chase Offer on multiple cards and your booking would cost $200 or more, you could book in two or more reservations to earn the statement credits from two or more cards. Just be sure to check with the person you’re booking with if they’re OK with you doing that, as some might prefer not having the hassle of multiple reservations.
There could be a benefit to the sitter though. Back in the day when there was a Rover Amex Offer and we had the offer on a dozen different cards, we asked the dog sitter who we always used while we were away if we could split the weeks-long reservation into smaller chunks in order for us to earn the statement credit on each card. She was fine with that and said that it benefited her because it meant she got paid by Rover every couple of days, rather than getting the chunk of the earnings at the very end of the stay like she would have if we’d booked it as one long stay. I’m not certain that’s still how this works (she advised us that about 10 years ago), but it might be beneficial for them.
However, be aware that some pet sitters offer discounts on longer stays which you might lose if only booking for a few nights at a time to use the offer on multiple cards.
