Giant, Martin’s and Stop & Shop are offering 3x points when buying Visa gift cards which includes variable load cards. That can give you significant savings on gas.

Quick Thoughts
The great thing about these types of deals at Giant, Martin’s and Stop & Shop is that they’re valid on variable load Visa gift cards rather than only fixed-value gift cards like Kroger’s 4x fuel points deals on Visa and Mastercard gift cards.
Every $500 card you buy will earn you 1,500 points. Those points can be redeemed for $1.50 off per gallon on up to 20 gallons which means that you can save up to $30. That more than offsets the $5.95 activation fee; in fact, you only need to be able to fill up with four gallons in order to break even and that’s before taking into account the rewards you’ll earn by paying with a card that earns more at grocery stores.
If you live near Giant or Stop & Shop stores, this deal isn’t appearing in your weekly ad. For some reason, that’s been the case for the last couple of months or so – gift card deals are displayed in the weekly ad for Martin’s but not Giant or Stop & Shop. This offer is still available at all three chains though despite not being listed in all weekly ads.
If you’re racking up more points than you can redeem on gas, you might be in luck if you live near certain Giant or Martin’s stores. That’s because some locations have access to an additional element to the rewards program where you can redeem your points for groceries. While that doesn’t provide quite as much value as redeeming for gas, it’s far better than letting those points go to waste and so makes this deal much more worthwhile for scaling.

This is in the flyer for Giant in Central PA. Rules also vary by region. We can get 25 gallons per fill, with no limit on the discount. Some Giants in MD for example have different limits.

Any idea how we can tell if our particular store location is participating in the aspect to utilize points on grocery purchases?
It should be on your Giant or Stop&Shop’s website (or app) as an option for redeeming points. For example, Giant of PA: https://giantfoodstores.com/rewards/redeem-points.
