Terms

ENROLLMENT/ELIGIBLE CARDS: Enrollment limited. Must first add offer to Card and then use same Card to redeem. Only U.S.-issued American Express® Cards that are enrolled in the Membership Rewards® program at the time of purchase are eligible. Limit 1 enrolled Card per Card Member across all American Express offer channels. Your enrollment of an eligible American Express Card for this offer extends only to that Card. Your enrollment does not extend to any other Cards that may be linked to the same Membership Rewards program account (such as Additional Cards). Offer is non-transferable. ELIGIBLE PURCHASES: Offer valid online at HappyCards.com US website only. Excludes authorized retailers, purchases shipped outside of the US, gift cards purchased in bulk and other Blackhawk Network brands. Purchases may fall outside of the offer period in some cases due to a delay in merchants submitting transactions to us or if the purchase date differs from the date you made the transaction (for example, the purchase date for online orders may be the shipping date). If American Express does not receive information that identifies your transaction as qualifying for the offer, you will not receive the additional points. For example, your transaction will not qualify if it is not made directly with the merchant. In addition, in most cases, you may not receive the additional Membership Rewards points if your transaction is made with an electronic wallet or through a third party. EARNING POINTS: Limit of 1,500 additional Membership Rewards points per Card Member. The enrolled Card account must be active, not be past due, canceled or have a returned payment outstanding to receive the additional Membership Rewards points. Any additional points you receive through this offer are in addition to the points you would normally receive for purchases charged to your Card, but the number of additional points you receive will be based on the purchase price after any credit or other discount is applied. When we calculate the additional points benefit for Amex EveryDay® Card products, points awarded under this offer will not be included. Additional points will be credited to your Membership Rewards program account within 90 days after 12/12/2020, provided that American Express receives information from the merchant about your qualifying purchase. We may not credit additional points to, or we may take away additional points that have been credited to, your program account if the qualifying purchase is returned/cancelled. Terms and conditions for the Membership Rewards program apply. Visit membershiprewards.com/terms for more information. Participating partners and available rewards are subject to change without notice. The value of Membership Rewards points varies according to how you choose to use them. To learn more, go to www.membershiprewards.com/pointsinfo. By adding an offer to a Card, you agree that American Express may send you communications about the offer. Bonus ID: B6MN POID: K19U:0002

Quick Thoughts

Saving 15% on Happy gift cards (or more depending on how you value Membership Rewards) is a decent deal. In case you’re not familiar with Happy gift cards, there are many different versions of the cards, each of which have a theme. For example, there’s Happy Bride, Happy Student, Happy Graduation, Happy Dining, etc.

Each Happy brand has a selection of different retailers the card can be used at. Some cards are focused on restaurants, others on retailers and others have a mix of the two. Saving 15%+ at many of these brands can provide greater savings than you’d get simply by buying discounted gift cards for a specific brand, while simultaneously opening up how many different places you can use the card.

If you have both versions of the offer available to you (cash back version and points version), you can add one of each version to different cards, so you can double up on the offer.

Does the Bed Bath and Happy Girl still work…

Corey

Happy doesn’t seem to have Lowe’s or Home Depot anymore 🙁

Rusty

They killed the Happy Guy card, which was the only card that actually made me a Happy Guy! 🙂

Corey

Just checked again today. Lo and behold there is a new “Happy to say thanks” and “Happy just because” that have Lowe’s!

Maria

But will it work?

Corey

It should, the terms do not mention the individual Happy Cards. I’ve done two Happy offers before with amex and they worked.

Chris K

When I added the MR offer on one card, the cash back offer disappeared on my other card. That’s a first for me.

Glenn

Ditto. Feel like it was a mistake though. I had a cash back offer on my BBP which you’d expect to have an MR offer. When I added the MR offer on the EDP, the one on my BBP disappeared. I think it was really an MR offer and there’s a glitch displaying wrong info sometimes right now. After adding an offer on the EDP to make it go away, it showed up again later after switching cards and back. Refreshing the page made it go away. I think there might be something glitchy going on right now.
