With Mother’s Day coming up, Hawaiian Airlines has launched a new gift card deal this week to celebrate that. When using promo code MOM24, you can get bonus gift cards worth 10% of the gift card value you purchase.

Quick Thoughts

Costco and Sam’s Club used to give 10% discounts on Hawaiian Airlines gift cards, but those deals ended a year or two ago. This offer is the next best thing, although it’s a 9.1% discount rather than 10% discount.

Payment is processed by Buyatab and so won’t code as an airline purchase. Having said that, if you have a Hawaiian Airlines credit card, you’ll earn 3x miles when buying these gift cards.

This deal could – maybe, eventually – be a way to get a discount on Alaska Airlines flights. That’s far from a certainty though because it would a) require the Alaska purchase of Hawaiian Airlines to go through as planned and b) for the new company to allow you to use Hawaiian gift cards to purchase Alaska Airlines flights. I therefore wouldn’t count on that happening and would only buy these gift cards if you’re actually planning on booking paid Hawaiian Airlines flights.
