Quick Thoughts
If you’re booking a paid stay at one of these three brands, it won’t be hard to spend $250 if you’re staying at least two nights (or even one night depending on the property). If you’re booking an award stay at a Curio, Tapestry or Canopy hotel, if you have dining or other charges charged to your room totaling $250 or more, that’ll also trigger the $50 statement credit from the Amex Offer.
A couple of key things to note. First, it’s only valid on stays in North and South America and the Caribbean, although it’s also worth checking the list of countries and the specific landing page for this Amex Offer to verify that the property you’ll be staying at is indeed eligible.
Second, as noted in the terms above this won’t work when booking an Advance Purchase rate. That’s because payment is processed by Hilton ahead of time rather than a hotel that’s one of the three brands. You therefore need to make a reservation using a rate where you get charged at the time of your stay.
If you are booking a paid stay, be sure to click through from a shopping portal. If you have Diamond status then you’ll likely only earn 1% cashback, but if you have Gold status or lower then check for a targeted offer from Capital One Shopping as you might be able to earn 6% cashback which is likely as good as it gets.
