Hilton Amex Spending Offer: Spend $3,000, get 6,000 bonus points (targeted)

1

There are at least two new spending offers on Amex Hilton cards that give 2x bonus points for meeting specific spending targets. Unlike most Hilton Amex Offers that only reward spending at Hilton properties, these are for general spending on a Hilton Amex.

I have two versions on my cards: spend $3,000, get 6,000 bonus points, and spend $10,000, get 20,000 points. You can trigger both offers up to three times. There are probably other variations out there.

The Deal

  • Targeted Amex Hilton Offer: Spend $3000 in one or more purchases and get 6,000 bonus points (there is also a $10,000/20,000 version, and probably others)
    • Can be used up to 3x

Key Terms

  • Expires February 10th, 2026.
  • Registrations Required.
  • Valid only on purchases made in US dollars.

Quick Thoughts

It’s been a couple of years since we’ve seen a spending bonus on a Hilton card. On this one, hitting exactly $3,000 in spending effectively gives you an additional 2x earning. We value Hilton Honors points at ~.4 cents each, so the additional 2x adds up to a whopping .8% of additional return. Yipee, I guess?

That certainly doesn’t sound like much, but I was targeted on a Hilton Surpass card, which earns 6x on grocery and gas. I’m plugging away on the yearly $15,000 in spend for a free night certificate (FNC) on that card, so adding this bonus means that I’m now getting 8x on both and will end up with an additional 18,000 points added to my total (assuming that I can do all $9000 before the offer expires). That’s a nice little sweetener for spending that I was going to do already.

Spending $10K to get 20K points might get about 4-hours stay in an Hampton Inn… The opportunity cost > than the value; seems to be just a shinny object to get us distracted. Thanks Hilton, but I can think of other ways to earn points that are move valuable with that spend amount.
