AwardTool is an award search tool that has a lot of flexibility, especially if you have the Pro version. In this video, we’ll show you what you can do with AwardTool Pro.
(00:00) – Get $20 off your first year by using code FREQUENTMILER20. Use our link here.
(00:30) – You’ll need the Pro version of AwardTool to access the 32-entry search capabilities
(01:10) – If you search with just one departure and one destination, you can search up to 32 dates at once
(01:37) – If you select the “All airports” option, that will count as one single destination or departure selection even though it includes multiple airports. (However, if you select the multi-destination option with the stars by it, like “London Area” for example, it will include those individual airports separately and detract from your 32 entries.)
(02:26) – If you reduce the number of dates you’re searching, then you can add additional airports into your departure or destination search. It will tell you how many airports you can select.
(04:19) – You can filter the results to filter out options with a certain maximum amount of taxes
(04:52) – You can also filter to flights with only a certain number of stops
(05:34) – You can change the search result view to more easily see airline details
(07:00) – Greg demonstrates a real-world use for this tool
(09:15) – When you add additional airports, note that the platform will let you add more airports even after you’ve reached your limit. It will simply begin removing the airports you originally put in to make space for the new ones. This is easy to go unnoticed, so pay close attention.
(10:18) – Greg looks for one-ways first, then simply flips the search criteria around to search return options
(11:11) – If you’re not seeing many good options, you can set up an alert for more options that suit your search criteria
(13:12) – Selecting “infinite mode” means it will continue to send alerts for new options
(14:31) – Nick points out that allowing search results with any number of connections may help you spot routes from airports you didn’t think to include in your original departure airports
