If you were jealous of Greg’s experience getting to fly into Manhattan for free with BLADE courtesy of JetBlue status, you have an opportunity to do something similar.
JetBlue has launched a new promotion offering free BLADE helicopter transfers between Manhattan and JFK or Newark airports when flying in Mint class. There’s a whole load of terms, conditions and exclusions that make this much harder to take advantage of, but it’s a fun opportunity that seemed worth highlighting in case you wanted to build a trip around it.
The Deal
- Get a complimentary BLADE helicopter transfer between Manhattan to JFK or Newark (EWR) when you book in Mint class with JetBlue.
- Direct link to offer.
Key Terms
- Customers with Mint bookings departing or arriving at JFK or EWR and made between 2/13/2024 and 2/21/2024 for travel between 2/15/2024 and 3/8/2024 (excluding Mint flights departing or arriving on Saturdays and Sundays and flights departing or arriving outside of BLADE Airport operating hours) will receive a complimentary BLADE Airport helicopter transfer for each Mint Customer on their reservation with a maximum of four (4) Mint Customers per reservation.
- BLADE Airport helicopter transfers must be used in conjunction with the confirmed Mint booking made during the booking window above and within the travel window above.
- JetBlue is not responsible for alternate transportation or compensation in the event that BLADE cannot accommodate your booking request due to a lack of available seats at the time of booking, or is not able to operate for any reason. In the event that a traveler’s connection between a JetBlue flight and BLADE is impacted in any way, regardless of cause, including a JetBlue flight delay, JetBlue is not responsible for the provision or payment of alternative transportation services between Manhattan and JFK or EWR.
- Customers must be a TrueBlue member in good standing and 18 years or older at time of travel to receive a complimentary BLADE Airport helicopter transfer.
- Customers must be flying on a confirmed, same-day JetBlue-operated flight in the Mint experience in order to utilize their complimentary BLADE Airport helicopter transfer.
- Bookings made outside of the above booking and/or travel window do not qualify for this promotion.
- Reservations with no more than four (4) Customers will be eligible for a complimentary BLADE Airport helicopter transfer.
- Advance booking of 48 hours is required for this promotion.
- Customers will receive their BLADE booking code between 24 and 48 hours prior to their JetBlue flight departure.
- Award Flights or Mint flights booked using Move to Mint certificates are not eligible for this promotion.
- Due to helicopter weight restrictions, each traveler is subject to BLADE’s Luggage Policies, which limit weight and size and may be more restrictive than baggage policies on JetBlue. JetBlue will not be responsible for any additional fees incurred by customers when flying BLADE, including but not limited to excess luggage fees.
- Complimentary passes only apply on BLADE Airport transfers during BLADE Airport operating hours.
- All travelers on BLADE must accept, and all BLADE Airport helicopter transfers are subject to, all applicable BLADE policies, terms and conditions, including Weather and Delay Policies. BLADE reserves the right to modify its policies, terms and conditions, including, without limitation, its Terms of Service, Luggage Policies and Weather and Delay Policies in its sole and absolute discretion.
- Impacted connections between a JetBlue flight and BLADE under this promotion regardless of cause, including a JetBlue flight delay or cancellation, are ineligible for compensation under JetBlue’s Customer Bill of Rights. Customers with an impacted connection between a JetBlue flight and confirmed BLADE flight made through this promotion may request a complimentary BLADE rebooking valid up to one (1) month after their impacted flight. Customers must be flying on a confirmed, same-day JetBlue-operated flight in the Mint experience in order to qualify for a complimentary rebooking. Award Flights and refundable Mint fares are ineligible for this promotion.
Quick Thoughts
The chances of being able to take advantage of this promotion are fairly small for a few reasons. First, you have to book by February 21 and it’s only valid for travel February 15 to March 8, so just over three weeks of eligible travel dates.
The other key requirement is that you have to be flying Mint on a cash rate – as bolded in the terms above, award flights or Mint flights booked using Move to Mint certificates are excluded.
This could still be worth it though if you can find some reasonably priced Mint flights. For example, a Mint flight from JFK to Aruba at the end of this month can be had for $543 one-way. Sure, economy is available for as low as $119, but if you’d like to experience both Mint and a free helicopter transfer from Manhattan to JFK, $543 isn’t a bad investment.
If you’d like to see which routes are available in Mint to/from JFK and/or Newark, you can check JetBlue’s Mint route map here.
Disadvantaging your points program when you’ve structured your points program to be boring penny points is the peak of idiocy. Is their loyalty program run by absolute morons?
If they throw in a Founders Card membership . . .
