Kroger has launched a new gift card deal online today which is giving $25 Kroger eGift cards free when spending $200 on Airbnb gift cards.
The Deal
- Buy $200 of Airbnb gift cards from Kroger online & get $25 Kroger eGift cards free.
- Direct link to offer.
Key Terms
- Expires April 20, 2023.
- Limit 1 per transaction.
Quick Thoughts
Getting 12.5% back in the form of Kroger eGift cards is a decent deal if you can make use of them. You don’t need to have a Kroger store near you to redeem them as they can be used at any of the chains that Kroger owns including Fred Meyer, Fry’s, Smith’s, King Soopers, Ralphs, etc.
When clicking through to the deal it’ll likely default to the $25 Airbnb denomination. You’ll therefore need to ensure that you add $200 worth of Airbnb gift cards to your cart, although it doesn’t have to be a $200 denomination specifically. If for some reason you’d prefer smaller denominations, you could buy two $100 cards, one $100 card and two $50 cards, etc. Once you’ve added a total of $200 worth of Airbnb gift cards, the site will automatically add the free $25 Kroger eGift card to your cart.
With these types of deals there’s a limit of one per transaction because only one $25 card will be added to your cart no matter how many multiples of $200 you add of Airbnb gift cards. That doesn’t mean you’re limited to taking advantage of this deal only once though. After getting an order fulfilled, you should be able to place another order; there’ll likely be a limit of two or three per day, so if they cut you off then try again 24 hours later.
Kroger’s most recent 4x fuel points promotion ended yesterday, but you’ll still earn 2x points which is the standard return on gift card purchases. With this being an online deal, it sadly won’t code as a grocery purchase because payment is processed by Blackhawk Network rather than Kroger themselves.
You can’t split airbnb payments between a gift card and a credit card. Isn’t that correct? It has to be all one payment type?
You can, sort of. You preload the gift cards to your account, so if your stay cost, say, $750 and you loaded $400 of gift cards to it, you’d pay the balance of $350 with a credit card.

Dead? I tried to buy more this morning, but the link no longer works.
Sam’s has them at a discount rate.
I don’t see them either anymore. I bought a couple last week and was planning to buy more since it went until 4/20 but it doesn’t look like they’re running it anymore.
Where do you get Airbnb GC at 10-20% off? We have an upcoming trip where we’ll need to use Airbnb. Thanks
AARP Rewards was selling $500 cards for $425 this morning briefly until they sold out. Best Buy tends to have deals on them every couple of months or so. Kroger has run this deal a couple of times recently. When Amazon has those ‘Save $xx when redeeming 1 Membership Rewards point’ deals, I sometimes buy Airbnb gift cards. When there are Staples Amex Offers for $25 back when spending $100, I order a $100 Airbnb gift card from them online. Basically, all kinds of ways!
If I pay with Airbnb gift cards and book through British Airways Airbnb link below, can I still get Avios points with my booking?

Yes
Yes… I do that all the time. You can even pay part of the charge with a credit card and the rest with the Airbnb gift card and you still get the Avios points.
What’s the general consensus on using Airbnb GCs for stays? Any value in using a CC over a GC for Airbnb?
We’ve spent tens of thousands on Airbnb stays over the last 5.5 years, pretty much all of which has been paid for with gift cards bought at 10%-20% off.
I therefore have no problems with using them, but that’s because I know that we’ll make use of them. If I was making a one-time refundable booking with Airbnb and had no further plans to use them in the next year or two, I’d be wary of paying with gift cards. The reason why is because the cancelled stay would get credited back to your account towards a future stay which you might not be able to make use of, whereas paying by credit card would mean that you’d get refunded to that card.
If you’re booking a non-refundable Airbnb stay though, it’s less of an issue unless the credit card you’d be paying with offers some kind of travel protections in the event of you having to cancel your trip.
