Quick Thoughts
If you have any of the IHG brand-specific offers on the same card as the generic IHG Chase Offer Nick wrote about yesterday, the two will presumably stack to earn a total of 20% back.
As always with these types of spending offers, they’re card-linked offers which means that they also stack nicely with shopping portal cashback, promotions the hotel chain is running as well as bonus point earnings on your credit card if it bonuses for travel or – even better – if you find the offers on an IHG or Marriott card.
Depending on the cost of your stay, you might easily max out the cashback earnings from one of these offers. If you happen to have that same offer on another of your cards, you can ask the hotel to split the cost of your stay to maximize how much you get back as statement credits.
Would this offer track on IHG points purchases? For example, Chase offer + shopping portal + current IHG points purchase promo.
Unfortunately not as points purchases are processed by Points.com rather than by IHG.
Does this count for Cyber sale pre-paid rates on IHG.com? Or does the purchase need to be directly at a hotel?
Yes, that’ll count provided you use a Holiday Inn Express Chase Offer for a Holiday Inn Express property, etc.
Will they stack with the CSR $50 Hotel Credit?
Did you mean the Chase Sapphire Preferred credit rather than Sapphire Reserve? If so, I don’t think it would as you have to book through the Chase portal to get the $50 credit whereas the 10% Chase Offers have to have the payment processed by the hotel or hotel chain directly.
Hi Stephen. I did. Thank you for clarifying this for me.
Does anyone know of any properties (other than Westin) that have refundable fares and require deposits at the time of making the reservation? Thanks for any data points.
