Quick Thoughts
It’s important to note that this offer is valid only at properties in the US and US territories, along with Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. It also excludes Marriott Homes and Villas and Design Hotels, along with some other vacation rental brands. The Protea exclusion is redundant since those are outside the US anyway.
Historically, these Marriott Amex offers have been triggered by a gift card purchase at the front desk even though the terms exclude gift cards purchases. It has always been a crap shoot as to whether properties sell gift cards at all…and if they do, whether or not they’ll actually have them in stock (and then whether or not they know how to load them). It’s probably worth calling to see if a location has them before you make a trip to the hotel. In general, higher-end brands seem to stock them more frequently than the Fairfields and Courtyards of the world.
As always, we have added this to our Current Amex Offers database.
Not targeted on any personal cards (6 credit, 2 charge)
Hi, does anyone know if this will work on Autograph Collection hotels? Thank you
Yes, it will.
Got this one on my old Blue and the 20% on my Bonvoy Biz
I got the 20%/$50 offer on my Bonvoy Business but did not get the $300/$60. P2 got the $300/$60 offer on her Platinum and the 20%/$50 on her EE Green (from one of my Bus Plat accounts). P3 and P4 got the $300/$60 offers on their AU Plats (from my Platinum account).
I also got another 20%/$50 offer added on a recently-opened Business Gold that is somehow sort of separate in the Amex system from my other cards (the MR points pot is a separate pot from the others even though they’re all under the same login).
On my Amex Business Marriott card I also got 20% back capped at $50.
I also got the 20%/$50 offer on my Biz Marriott card. Did you also get the $300/$60 offer but on another Amex card? If so, which one?
Yes I got $300/$60 on My Plat and P2 Plat
[…] sell out fairly quickly. If you do miss out on them, there are three Marriott Amex Offers (see here and here) which also give you a way of buying Marriott gift cards for 20% off provided you can […]
Can you earn 5 amex pts if booked through the pre-paid program w/Platinum as well as get the $60?
Read terms. seems they do but only on $ amount after $60 credit applied. but not bad. so on at least $240. “ Any benefit earned from this offer is in addition to the rewards (i.e. Membership Rewards or cash back) earned as part of your existing Card benefits, but your ability to earn spend-based rewards for the purchase will be based on the amount after any statement credit or other discount is applied.”
Unfortunately, no. In order to trigger the credit, you have to book directly with Marriott, but to get the 5x on prepaid travel, you have to book through Amex Travel.
