Bilt Rewards has added Marriott Bonvoy as its newest transfer partner which makes it 16 partners overall. The transfer ratio as it stands means it won’t provide much value versus some other transfer partners, but if they run one of their generous transfer bonuses in the future it could become more enticing.
The standard transfer ratio will be 1:1, with Bilt offering 5,000 bonus points for every 20,000 transferred. If you transfer in 20,000 point increments, that makes it a 1:1.25 ratio which isn’t bad value, but certainly not as good as transferring to other partners like Hyatt, American Airlines, etc. Bilt has advised that most transfers should occur near instantly, although it can take up to 48 hours.
What will make this partnership more interesting is if Bilt runs one of its generous transfer bonuses to Marriott in the future. For example, on November 1 they offered bonuses ranging from 75%-150% when transferring to Emirates depending on your Bilt Rewards status level. A bonus like that in the future would convert 20,000 Bilt points to 43,750-62,500 Marriott Bonvoy points which is much better value.
As with all of Bilt’s other transfer partners, you can earn 100 Bilt points free when linking your Marriott account in the Bilt app. That said, it might be worth waiting to do that if you’re not planning to transfer to Marriott any time soon because Bilt has offered a higher number of bonus points when linking accounts in the past.
Singapore please.
Was hoping Bilt would offer 1:2 to Marriott just like Amex does with Hilton.
While Marriott points have gotten significantly devalued over the last 2 years, they are still worth about double what Hilton points are for an average redemption (not the high-end, cherry-picked redemptions we like to talk about on here all the time). The fact that Bilt gives any kind of bonus at all for hitting the 20K transferred is kind of surprising. The middling value of Marriott points really only starts to fall apart at the top end of their awards chart now.
Amex transfers to Marriott 1:1. Chase transfers to Marriott 1:1. Why would this be a likelihood?
