There’s a new targeted Chase Offer for Marriott which, while its percentage isn’t as high as the current Marriott Amex Offers, could actually be a better deal if you have any upcoming Marriott stays in the next few weeks.
The Deal
- Get 10% back at Marriott properties when spending $100+ with a targeted Chase Offer.
Key Terms
- Expires February 20, 2023.
- Maximum $57 back.
- Offer valid one time only.
- Complete payment for your stay must be made by February 20, 2023.
- Offer not valid on third-party purchases.
- Offer valid at all Marriott Bonvoy brands.
- Payment must be made directly with the merchant.
Quick Thoughts
With a limit of $57 back, you’ll max out this Marriott Chase Offer when spending $570. Note though that you have to spend at least $100 in order to get 10% back, plus it’s only valid on one purchase, so it’s potentially worth saving this for a more expensive stay than a cheap one night stay.
If you have any Amex cards, be sure to check those for Marriott Amex Offers because there’s one on personal cards giving $60 back when spending $300 and one on business cards giving 20% back on up to $250 spend. At first glance, those Amex Offers look better than this Chase Offer, but that might not necessarily be the case depending on what stays you have lined up.
For example, with the Amex Offer on personal cards you have to spend $300 or more in order to trigger the statement credit, so the Chase Offer will be better than that for stays of $100-$299.99. The Amex Offer on business cards doesn’t have that same issue as it gives 20% back on however much you spend, although the limit of $250 in spend on that offer means the most you can save is $50 rather than $57 from this Chase Offer.
There are a couple of other benefits of this Chase Offer. One is that it’s valid at all Marriott brands, whereas the Amex Offers exclude a few of Marriott’s brands. The other is that there’s no list of country exclusions, so this Chase Offer should be valid at Marriott brands worldwide, whereas the Amex Offers are only valid at properties in the US, the Caribbean, Canada and Mexico.
This Marriott Chase Offer is currently due to expire on February 20, 2023. Chase Offers sometimes get extended, but there’s no guarantee that they’ll do that again. If you have a stay taking place after February 20, you could contact the hotel and ask if they can take payment ahead of time to lock in the statement credit now.
Also be sure to register for Marriott’s new promotion giving 1,000 bonus points per night as well as double elite nights.
Sorry…kind of a newbie here. How/where will I find these targeted offers?
When you log in to your Chase account on desktop, scroll down a little and you should see a section headed ‘Chase Offers’ on the right hand side, so click on ‘See all offers’ in that section.
If you have more than one Chase card, use the dropdown box at the top of the page to see offers on each of your cards. Sometimes you’ll see the same offer on each of your cards, other times you might see a great offer but it’ll only be on one of them.
To load an offer to a card, just click on it. That’ll link it to your card, plus it’ll show you the terms of the offer. Be sure to read the terms as they can have important information such as the maximum cashback you’ll earn. For example, I have a Petco Chase Offer giving 10% back and the limit is $6 back, so it’s good on up to $60 spend. I could spend more than that at Petco, it just means that the most I’ll get back is $6.
Note that adding an offer to one card doesn’t add it to all your cards. If you have the Marriott Chase Offer on more than one card and will want to split the cost of your stay across 2+ cards, you’ll need to load the offer to each card.
Think it’s targeted because not showing up for me, but AMEX Offer was nice on P1 and P2 with perfect timing, so I’ll take that $120 reduction off my Platinum annual fee!
