Marriott Bonvoy and United MileagePlus have a long-running partnership, offering reciprocal status if you have high enough status in one program or the other.
Every so often they also offer bonus points and miles when flying and staying with each other and a new promotion has been launched offering just that.
The Deal
- Earn 500 bonus United MileagePlus miles on stays at Marriott Bonvoy properties.
- Earn 750 bonus Marriott Bonvoy points on United flights.
- Earn a one-time bonus of 1,500 bonus Marriott Bonvoy points and 1,000 bonus United MileagePlus miles after completing both a qualifying stay and flight.

Key Terms
- After enrolling in the Preferred Partnership Program, member is required to register for this Promotion at marriottbonvoy.com/earn-earn or promo.united.com/offers/earn-earn2025 to become an Eligible Participant.
- Registration for the Promotion is open between July 1, 2025, 12:00 a.m. EDT and August 31, 2025, 11:59 p.m. EDT (the “Promotion Registration Period”). All travel, including Eligible Flights and Eligible Stays must be booked and travel commenced by August 31, 2025 (the “Promotion Travel Period”). The Promotion Registration Period and the Promotion Travel Period are together the “Promotion Period”.
- An “Eligible Itinerary” consists of (i) an Eligible Participant (ii) having an itinerary documented with a confirmation number, (iii) booked with money (iv) completing a flight from such itinerary operated by United or United Express, and (v) travel begins no later than August 31, 2025, 11:59 p.m. EDT. Flights booked with miles or “money and miles” are not eligible for this Promotion. Eligible Participants will earn 750 Marriott Bonvoy bonus points for each unique Eligible Itinerary.
- An “Eligible Stay” consists of (i) a stay by an Eligible Participant, (ii) of at least one (1) night at hotel participating in the Marriott Bonvoy program, (iii) the stay commenced (i.e., arrived at the hotel) by no later than August 31, 2025, 11:59 p.m. EDT, and (iv) paid for with money. Stays booked with points or “money and points” are not eligible for this Promotion. Eligible Participants will earn 500 United MileagePlus miles per Eligible Stay.
- Eligible Participants who complete both an Eligible Itinerary and an Eligible Stay will also receive a one-time bonus of 1000 United MileagePlus miles and 1500 Marriott Bonvoy bonus points.
- Members who select miles as their earning preference in their Marriott Bonvoy account are not eligible for this Promotion and will not receive the bonus, even if the other terms and conditions of this offer have been met. An Eligible Participant must select Marriott Bonvoy points as their earning preference.
- Members are eligible to participate in only one (1) dual currency campaign per calendar year. By enrolling in this Promotion, you understand and agree that you will not be eligible to enroll in any future Dual Currency Campaigns with Marriott Bonvoy in 2025.
Quick Thoughts
This promotion sadly isn’t available to anyone with both a Marriott Bonvoy and United MileagePlus account. Instead, you still need to be eligible for the partnership by having either Marriott Ambassador or Titanium status or by having United Premier Gold, Premier Platinum or Premier 1K status.
It’s not an incredible promotion because 750 bonus Marriott points for a flight or 500 bonus miles for a stay aren’t likely to move the needle enough to make it worth specifically booking an individual flight or stay with one or the other. That said, if you’re already going to be flying with United and need to book a hotel stay somewhere, or if you already have a Marriott stay planned and need to book a flight somewhere, it could be worth booking that additional travel portion with Marriott or United respectively.
That’s because the additional bonus points available for flying and staying with both companies makes it a little more worthwhile. Getting an additional 1,500 bonus Marriott points and 1,000 bonus United miles on top of the 750 points or 500 miles for booking that second travel element obviously provides more value that just the 750 points or 500 miles alone.
One of the nice things about these types of promotion is that when staying at Marriott properties, the bonus United miles you earn are in addition to the Marriott points you earn as standard. Similarly with United flights; you earn MileagePlus miles as standard along with the bonus Marriott points.
If booking United flights, check to see if you’re targeted for a Mile Play offer which can award even more bonus miles. I’m not aware of any current promotions as of publishing this post, but I imagine we’ll see more people targeted for those offers in the next couple of months while this United/Marriott promotion is running.
Similarly, there’s not currently a global Marriott Bonvoy promotion offering bonus points and/or elite night credits, but hopefully a new one will launch before the end of August. In the meantime, keep an eye out for Marriott Amex Offers and Chase Offers. For example, there are some great (relatively) new Marriott Amex Offers available for targeted members, as well as a Chase Offer giving 10% back at any Marriott brand, along with other Chase Offers giving 10% back at select Marriott brands.
