If you live in Meijer-land, these kind of deals are great because they’re instantly profitable. The digital coupon works on variable load Mastercard gift cards, so you’ll make a profit of $4.05 seeing as the card has a $5.95 purchase fee.
Paying with a card that earns more at grocery stores makes it an even better deal. If you’re currently earning 10x Membership Rewards on grocery purchases by virtue of having a personal Amex Platinum card opened in the last six months or so, it’s up to you as to whether you want to risk Amex clawing back the points. There are all kinds of other cards that offer bonused spend at grocery stores though which includes the Citi Dividend card as that’s offering 5% cashback this quarter.
