Quick Thoughts

This offer seems to be available pretty much year round. If you’re planning a trip to Vegas, it’s a great way to get ~20% off (if you’re able to stick close to the $300 spend requirement.)

Seeing as you can book online at mlife.com, you can book discounted rates at MGM Resorts hotels. For example, a Pyramid Deluxe Queen Room at Luxor Hotel & Casino is pricing out at $306.15 for a five night stay from February 4 to February 9. That’s with Guaranteed Early Check-In (10am) and LUX Late Check Out (3pm) added for $20 each to get over the $300 mark and includes taxes and resort fees.

With the statement credit version of the Amex Offer, your net cost will be $246.15. That puts your net cost per night at $49.23.

The other benefit of MLife is their partnership with World of Hyatt. Once your MLife and Hyatt accounts are linked, you’ll earn World of Hyatt points and elite qualifying nights for stays at MGM Resorts. This can therefore be a lower cost way to help you attain Hyatt status.

Edit 1: The original post had incorrect details about the Luxor stay. When rechecking rates, I was able to find an even lower priced deal which is included above.

Edit 2: There’s another benefit to linking your MLife and Hyatt accounts which is that you can charge meals to your room and earn World of Hyatt points. You can even eat at a different MGM Resorts hotel to where you’re staying and charge it to your room. For example, we ate at the Aria buffet and charged it to our room at The Luxor.

Do the resort fees and taxes count towards the $300 requirement? I saw someone ask Amex on twitter and the Amex rep just emphasized that only room rate and room charges count.

I spoke with Amex and they said to just call in and they’d straighten it out. They confirmed with this offer specifically.

You sure this includes those NASTY (unconscionable, get nothing) resort fees and Parking? Wife and I spend a few days in Vegas and were forever burned/turned off by all the mob-style hidden charges, come-ons, and false advertising. They low-ball you in, then pound you every minute you’re there for extra fees. (ps, heard a national talk show host yesterday griping about the same thing…. Vegas is the king of rip off)

NOT IMPRESSED by this post.

I just booked the Mirage for early March, but it pulled a deposit of $190 for the night and then will pay the rest at the hotel. Does it have to be a single charge of $300 or can two charges add up for the same stay?

Pretty sure that SPG offer doesn’t expire till Jan 31

I just spoke with someone from M-Life. He said that the deposit + settled charged at check out will likely be combined to trigger the offer. However, he recommended asking the clerk to refund the deposit and recharge the entire amount on the card to make sure.

Is this for US Amex cards only? Do you have to be sent the offer link to register for it?

[…] addition to the MGM Resorts Amex Offer, there’s a new Living Social Amex Offer. This could be a better deal than you might think […]

Does this includes like spending in the hotel restaurant and charge to the room?

will this stack with Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts…?

thanks! odd request but anyway to remove my last name from my post above

yes, i have used it several times this way

Thanks! I have a reservation at the Mirage in Feb so will be able to use this. Can I add my Hyatt number at checkin or should I do it prior? Does adding my Hyatt number remove my MLIFE number…like with an airline you can only put 1 ff number on a reservation? I’d like to earn Hyatt points but also want to be able to use any benefits Plat status gives me. Thanks!

You missed the deposit cost.
