National Car Rental is set to offer a promotion from April 4, 2024 to June 9, 2024 whereby you can earn double rental credit on qualifying weekend rentals of midsize or larger vehicles from participating locations. It’s worth registering for this even if you’re not totally sure that you’ll be able to take advantage.

- National Car Rental is offering a promotion to get double rental credit on qualifying weekend rentals of midsize or larger vehicles from participating locations between April 4, 2024 and June 9, 2024

Key Terms
- Members must register during the Promotional Period
- Member must be earning Emerald Club rewards and not partner rewards
- Weekend rental must be a paid qualifying rental at a participating National Car Rental location in the US
- Weekend rental is defined as picked up on Thursday, Friday or Saturday and returned on Sunday
- Qualifying rental must be picked up between April 4 through June 8, 2024
- Qualifying rental must be returned no later than June 9, 2024
- The vehicle must be Midsize or larger
- Earned double credit will be deposited into Member’s bank within 14 days of rental return or within 14 days after registration if the Member isn’t registered at the time of rental return
- Earned double credit is in addition to earned rental credit
- Qualifying Rentals and Qualifying Rental Days do not include the following types of rentals:
- Rentals when an insurance, dealer, body shop or fleet replacement rate is applied, regardless of who pays for the rental.
- Rentals that were included as part of a tour or travel package.
- Pre-paid rentals that were booked through a third party, including (but not limited to) third-party online travel agents (OTAs).
- Rentals by employees of Enterprise Mobility and any of its subsidiaries, affiliates, franchisee and franchisee employees and their family members or friends who are eligible to receive an employee discount.
- Consecutive, multiple, or overlapping rentals in the same Participating Rental Location.

Quick Thoughts
It’s worth registering for a promotion like this just in case it becomes useful. National Emerald Club members with no elite status get a free day after 7 rentals. A number of credit cards offer National Executive Status, and at that level of status you only need 6 rentals to get a free day (potentially 3 separate weekend days during this promotion period would yield a free day for Executive members). Executive Elite members get a free day every 5 rentals.
Unfortunately, we haven’t seen National run their old recurring “One Two Free” promotion in a long time, which has made it harder to earn free days. I love earning National Free Days because they can be incredibly useful for one-way rentals since National includes the one-way fee in the daily rental rate. I’ve often saved a couple hundred dollars (sometimes more) with National free days for one-way rentals.
Keep in mind that prepaid rentals booked through Online Travel Agencies are not qualifying rentals — so if you book with a rental car website and prepay the rate, don’t expect to get double credit.
I don’t have any plans to rent a car during this promotion window, but nonetheless it only took me a few minutes to register just in case.
