As Cyber Monday comes to a close, I found a deal in my inbox that I nearly missed that looks pretty solid for spa lovers: stack an Amex Offer for $55 back on $175 at The Red Door Spas with their gift card offer for an extra $25 voucher + $15 voucher when you buy $175 in gift cards for a total of $215 in spa credit for $120 net after the offer.
The Deal
- Buy $175 in The Red Door Spa gift cards, get $25 and $15 bonus vouchers
- Load Amex Offer for $55 back on $175 before buying
Key Terms
- Gift card and bonus vouchers become valid 24 hours after purchase
- Bonus vouchers valid through 1/31/18
- Limit $100 additional promotional vouchers per transaction
- Bonus vouchers “can not be combined with other offers”
- Bonus vouchers cannot be applied to tax or gratuity
- Bonus vouchers can only be used for services (not retail)
Quick Thoughts
Spa services at The Red Door Spas certainly don’t look cheap, but this looks like a good way to bring the prices down to earth and give a nice gift. I have no idea as to the quality of services at these spas, but I do happen to have a stay coming up at the Andaz 5th Ave (despite my less-than-stellar previous experience there) and it just so happens that there is basically a Red Door Spa less than half a mile away (inside The Chatwal, an SPG property):
There were plenty of appointments when I looked online, so I figured this would be a nice surprise for my better half (whether she happens to see this post or not before the trip :-). I made the gift card purchase and received the email confirmation that I’d used the Amex Offer right after buying a gift card.
Again, prices aren’t cheap — but it looks like the $215 in credit should get at least 2 services (if they let you combine the $25 + $15 with the $175; I can’t say for sure yet whether or not that is allowed.
Bottom line
This isn’t necessarily the greatest value of Cyber Monday, but about two hours of spa services in a major city for $120 (plus tax and tip) certainly isn’t the worst value of the day, either. This is an Amex Offer that comes around periodically, and I was glad to be able to take advantage of it at the right time to put all three vouchers to use. Hopefully, all three can be used in one trip.
