Last month, the welcome offer for the Amex Business Platinum card changed. That offer is now at 150,000 bonus points when spending $20,000 in the first three months, as well as a $500 statement credit when spending $2,500 directly with airlines or through Amex Travel within the first three months.
There’s now a new No Lifetime Language link that some people are targeted for, making it easier to pick up a new Business Platinum card even if you currently have one or have had one before.
The Deal
- Earn 150,000 bonus points on a new Business Platinum card when spending $20,000 in the first three months, plus get a $500 statement credit when spending $2,500 directly with airlines or via Amex Travel within the first three months.
- Direct link to see if you’re targeted.
Key Terms
- Expires June 30, 2025.
Quick Thoughts
While this 150k + $500 offer isn’t as good as the 250k welcome offer that was available a few months ago, it’s still a decent offer, especially if you can utilize the second part of the welcome offer that awards a $500 statement credit on $2,500 of eligible spending. It’s also particularly useful if you already have/had a Business Platinum card and otherwise get a popup saying you’re ineligible for the welcome offer when applying through different links, as the link above doesn’t have any lifetime language (i.e. wording in the terms and conditions stating that you’re not eligible for the welcome offer if you’ve had the card before).
There’s no guarantee that you’ll be eligible for this offer though because it is targeted. To see if you’ve been targeted, click through to the offer page and click on ‘Apply Now’. That’ll prompt you to log in to your Amex account. After doing that, if you see an application page where you can fill out your details, congrats – you’re targeted!
If, on the other hand, it goes to a screen where it says ‘We are sorry. This offer is no longer available. If you’d still like to apply for a Business Card from American Express click here’, that means you’re sadly not targeted.
