Kimpton is out with a new “secret password”. For stays through September 6, 2021 use password “No More Sweatpants” at check-in to enjoy some small “feel-good” surprise.
As seem above, Stephen Pepper used the secret password on a stay a couple of years ago and scored a $30 food & beverage credit. On the flip side, I used a secret password at the Kimpton La Peer in Beverly Hills a couple of years ago and the surprise wasn’t memorable enough for me to be able to tell you about it today. Still, something for nothing is always nice and it is kind of fun how Kimpton runs these periodic promotions. If only I had an upcoming Kimpton stay, I’d be really tempted to wear my dress pant sweatpants to see if I could score additional points for showing up in sweapants after all. Alas, I have no Kimpton stays planned any time soon.

Ahh, darn
Just checked out of the Kimpton Born in Denver the day before this post. First Kimpton stay, first time using the Amex Plat Fine Hotels and Resorts. I must say it was very nice. Super friendly staff and about $160 in credits to pay for parking, breakfast, and a heavy snack run from room service. Also got upgraded to a smaller suite and a free bottle of wine. Pretty great experience!
Used the other night for a stay in Winston-Salem. Got a gift bag with a small bottle of tequilla, fancy mixers and snack. Not amazing, but better than expected! Front desk agent said we were the first to use it interestingly enough.

FYI – the last 2 times I used the secret pw, I scored 2 breakfast vouchers (Kimpton Muse) and free valet parking (Kimpton Ink48)
I stayed at a Kimpton in Boston the night before this started. I even asked them at check in of there was a password.
It was wine night so they gave me a plastic cup of wine.
The one and only time I used a Kimpton secret password it sounded kind of creepy, I think it was “What are you doing later” or “When do you get off work?” I like the “no more sweatpants” phrase a lot better 🙂
I think we ended up getting 2 free drink vouchers or $20 toward drinks at the hotel bar.
I got a bottle of house wine a few years ago. Have mostly avoided kimptons because I find that their resort fees make them not competitive price wise in the places I’m traveling
