Marriott is sending out targeted offers to drive stays under the heading More Points Ahead. My offer requires too many stays for it to drive my decisions, but I’ll register nonetheless in case I accidentally hit any of the tiers. You may or may not be targeted for a tailored promo, but people sometimes receive valuable offers like double elite credits or more points for fewer stays than my offer, so it’s worth checking.
The Deal
- Marriott Bonvoy is sending out targeted offers via email (which you’ll also find under “promotions” in the Marriott Bonvoy app) to earn bonus points based on stay activity
- No link, check your email or the Marriott Bonvoy app (my email subject line was, “Earn up to 27,000 Bonus Points”)
Key Terms
- Registration must occur within three weeks of receiving the email.
- A ‘stay’ is defined as consecutive nights spent at the same hotel, regardless of check-in/check-out activity.
Quick Thoughts
My offer was weak: I can earn 9,000 bonus points after every 3 eligible paid stays up to 9 stays for a total of 27,000 bonus points. If that sounds confusing (I think it does), here it is visually:
In my case, I have yet to make my second stay under the current promotion for 2,000 bonus points after two stays, so I would also trigger that promotion with my next stay. The terms in the email indicate that I must register within 3 weeks of receiving the email and then stay within 3 months. As I said at the top, this won’t be enough to sway me towards a Marriott in the same way that the Choice Privileges promotion we reported earlier will get me to stay at a Choice property before the end of the year. However, I’ll still register since it only takes a second in the app and I’d rather be positioned to earn bonus points than not.
Unfortunately, my wife had no offer at all in her account, though neither had she registered for the current promotion, so I took the second to register her for that in the hopes that maybe she’ll see an additional promo soon.

Mine is double points on all stays-including-a-weekend for 3 months. An actually useful offer to complement the (useless for now — I haven’t yet Unlocked More) global promotion…
I received the same offer of 9K after 3 stays, 3 times. This significantly improves on the existing Unlock More offer I received of 12K points after 5 stays which unlocked when I completed the initial 2 stays necessary. So with six more stays (which I can do within the allotted promotion period) I’ll gain 30K bonus points. Since I’m also adding the Courtyard 2K Everyday bonus it’s actually 42K points for these 6 stays. If I add to that the Goodwill Adjustment points that I encourage Marriott to add to my account because I invariably have to call to get the Courtyard 2K points posted (they’ve failed to post automatically at 3 of the 4 Courtyards I stay at regularly), we’re almost talking real points now…
I recieved 15,000 points per 5 nights for total of 45000 points
Wife had this in the summer, nothing this time.
Unless you got a much better offer than I did it should be 5 stays and not 5 nights.
Mine is up to 18,000 points, expiring 2/29/20:
1st weekend stay: 4000
2nd weekend stay: 6000
3rd weekend stay: 8000
Where a weekend is a Fri or Sat night, a stay is 1+ nights.
