Halloween is over, so not only does that mean that candy will be available at grocery stores at a good discount today, but it also means shopping portals are starting to run promotions to try and snag some of your holiday shopping.
Four such promos have started today – three for airlines and one offering bonus cashback.

Other terms (these are for Delta, but terms are similar for the other portals other than the dates and spending thresholds):
- During the “Holiday Bonus” offer, which runs from 11/01/21 through 11/19/21 at 11:59:59 pm ET (the “Bonus Period”), Member will receive a one-time bonus of up to 2,000 bonus miles on qualifying purchases, in addition to the standard miles earned from shopping online through the SkyMiles Shopping mall.
- This one-time bonus award will be determined using one of the following tiers, based on Member’s cumulative qualifying purchases made during the Bonus Period: Tier 1 bonus: 500 miles for qualifying purchases of at least $200; or Tier 2 bonus: 1,000 miles for qualifying purchases of at least $400 or more; or Tier 3 bonus: 2,000 miles for qualifying purchases of at least $800 or more.
- Returns, cancellations, shipping and handling, taxes, gift card, or other cash equivalent purchases, and certain products are not included in the bonus miles eligibility calculation; please see the SkyMiles Shopping mall site for details on product eligibility and/or any coupon code details or other usage restrictions.

- The maximum number of bonus miles that will be awarded to an eligible SkyMiles Shopping account through the “Holiday Bonus” offer is 2,000 bonus miles.
Quick Thoughts
Although the value of each bonus will vary depending on how you value each airline’s miles, the United portal seems to have the best overall offer based on how many bonus miles you earn at each threshold. If spending at the exact thresholds, you’ll earn 4x or 5x bonus miles depending on how much you spend, whereas the Delta portal is only offering 2.5x at each of its thresholds.
Note the different expiry dates, so if you’re likely to have enough online spending to max out more than one of these offers, it could be worth focusing on portal promotions that end sooner than the others.
