Office Max / Office Depot are offering $15 off $150 on select third-party gift cards. Several of those included can easily be purchased on the secondhand market for bigger discounts, though the advantages here include being primary-sourced and earning 5x with a card like the Chase Ink Cash card. If giving as a gift, I prefer buying cards from reputable outlets, so I might consider this if I were looking for a gift.

Quick Thoughts
As noted at the top, I find a sale like this most useful if I intend to give a gift card as a gift since I don’t want to give a third-party card that may be drained before the recipient uses it. I typically buy discounted secondhand cards for personal use when I’m ready to place an order — but I’d rather buy cards from Office Max / Office Depot for gifts. Earning 5x Ultimate Rewards makes this a good enough deal to buy if I were in the market for one of these, though I’m not at the moment. Spa Finder was just on sale for 30% off on its website recently and Dominos/Chili’s seem to be on sale for about 20% off almost every other week. The others may be more useful to you depending on your circumstances.

Would gift card purchases at a stand alone Costco Business Center store qualify for earning 5X UR points with my Ink Cash card?
I don’t know – I’ve never seen one of those. That said, the Costco gas station codes as a wholesale club and does not trigger the gas station quarterly bonuses on Freedom cards, so I’d suspect your answer is no. Might be worth making a small purchase (of paper, pens, something cheap) as a test to see how it codes.
Nick, not to muddy the waters too much, but just checked my September Freedom statement, and my Costco gas station did actually trigger the quarterly bonus for Gas at that time.
Can you use the CIC (5x) on the MPX app at Office Depot (4x) to buy these? Or won’t you get the 5x on the card with MPX? Thanks!!
The MPX app sells you gift cards — so you’re buying an Office Depot gift card through the MPX app.
The deal in this post is for buying gift cards in-store at Office Depot (or Office Max). I do not believe Office Depot accepts a gift card as payment for a gift card, so I don’t think you’d be able to stack that with this deal.
Ok thanks! Do you happen to know if I would get 5x using the CIC on MPX buying the OD/OM gift card? I know I started using my CSR initially on the app for restaurants and was getting 3x but then it stopped so now I use CFU. Thank you so much!!
