For Prime Day, Amazon has a good sale on Fire tablets. In my opinion, the best deal is the Fire HD 8 for just $19.99. You can order up to 5 of each color of each tablet model at this price, which is a great deal if you have a need for an inexpensive tablet or two, whether to buy for yourself or as gifts.

Quick Thoughts
All of the above are great deals compared to the normal prices on these tablets. I think the Fire HD 8 is the best deal of the bunch, though the total discount on the Fire HD 10 is larger if you’re looking for a bit more real estate on your tablet.
Late last year, I posted about a similar deal (See: Can I interest you in 40 Amazon Fire tablets?). I was eventually able to resell all of the tablets I bought (I didn’t quite buy 40) for a profit — except for the couple that I gave as gifts to my parents and in-laws (both of whom have been very happy with the Fire HD 8). Five of the Fire HD 8’s come to $100 with this sale.
If you’re looking for a cheap tablet or five, this is a solid deal – I think it’s hard to go wrong at $20 and I think the upgrades of the 8 over the 7 are likely worth the extra ten bucks for most people.

Has anyone been successful using Citi and do you have to be targeted for AmEx points? Haven’t been able to get either to work.
See three comments above yours — Yuri said it works for both Citi and Amex (so you can do the deal twice). That said, both offers are targeted — widely available, but somewhat targeted.

You clearly don’t live in California where they tack on $5 per device for a recycling fee. Usually doesn’t matter but thats a 50% increase in price for the fire 7, haha 🙂

Same here. 5 of one color only. Can’t apply the discount code to other colors or other versions of the same model (16 vs 32 GB versions, for example).
