Swagbucks is currently offering 6500 pts $65 on sign-ups at Public.com (a stock and crypto investment app) after depositing $5 via the app. Public.com then adds an additional $5 cash into your account when you deposit and gives you a bonus of between $3-$300 of any stock you pick when using a referral code. I signed up today. The application process took about 5 minutes and I was approved instantly with no hard pull. The Public Investment app is a real brokerage app and is SIPC-insured up to $500,000 for each account.

The Process
If you don’t have a phone number already attached to your Swagbucks account, they will prompt you to add one:
After verification, you’ll be sent to the Public.com landing page where you’ll be prompted to enter your phone number so that a link to the app can be sent by text.
Upon downloading the app, you’ll have the opportunity to enter a referral code. If you do so, you’ll be prompted to choose which stock you’d like a “slice” of.
Then the app will take you through the sign-up process and ask you to link a bank. I chose my new Nearside Checking account and transferred $5 of Nearside’s largesse over to Public. The process was seamless. Immediately, $5 was added by to my account and the $3 in Vangaurd showed up in my holdings.
Quick Thoughts
I normally don’t mess around with the various brokerage apps much, but this is an extremely easy win for just a $5 deposit. All in, the process took less than 5 minutes and I already have the bonuses on the Public side showing in my account.

You can fund but then it’s impossible to get your money out. I’ve got a few grand locked up with no idea when I’m going to get it back. Their support is a horror. They never respond or they cut and paste answers. Tread carefully.

I have done this offer for both myself and P2 and had no problems loading via PPK and then ACHing the funds to a checking account (once the funds were ‘withdrawable, which took 1-2 days after loading). I linked the accounts and verified by uploading a statement. Once they were linked, I was able to withdraw the funds loaded via PPK.
i linked and uploaded statement as well not once but 3 times now but somehow am caught in a never ending money laundering verification process. Understand their concern but do not understand how their support is so weak. I’ve reached out on all their social media channels and same lack of response. I suppose it’s working well for some but if you get caught in their net watch out.
