Starwood Preferred Guest is running a good promotion in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East: Use a Mastercard to buy 2 or 3 nights and get 1 free or buy 4 nights and get 2 free. This will stack with the Citi Prestige 4th night free. Rates are a little high, so it’s not accurate to call this a Buy 3 get 3 free — but it can certainly amount of a nice discount on 6 nights in Europe, Africa, or the Middle East.

Quick Thoughts
The “free” night(s) isn’t necessarily based on the lowest available rate, so it’s better to look at this as a nice discount than true “free” nights. However, this promotion yields some decent discounts — and if stacked with the Citi Prestige 4th night free, you can save a nice chunk of change on a stay.
For example, the best rate I found for the Sheraton Rhodes Resort from June 13-19th, 2018 via HotelsCombined was a total of $967:
By using promotion code M3D or C3M, I get an average rate of 127 Euro per night, or a total of 760 Euro. That’s about $922 based on today’s exchange rate.
I called the Citi Prestige concierge to see if this would qualify for the 4th night free benefit. The agent confirmed that this would stack with the Citi Prestige 4th night free. Since the first 4 nights are 190 Euro each, you can get a discount of 190 Euro by booking through the Citi Prestige concierge (See our Complete Guide to the Citi Prestige 4th night free for more details on how to book over the phone). After that discount, the total comes down to 570 Euro — or about $692.17 by today’s exchange rate. That’s a savings of nearly $300.
I stayed at the Sheraton Rhodes during my honeymoon several years back — well before I started blogging here at Frequent Miler. I emailed ahead of my stay with some small requests and the Guest Services Supervisor, Kalliopi Stamati, took amazing care of us throughout our stay. From an upgrade to a nice junior suite with a sea view to sparkling wine and chocolate covered strawberries and later traditional Greek wedding desserts, she made sure that we had a very memorable stay. While the resort wasn’t the most elaborate SPG property, I’d certainly go back for $115 per night in the summertime.
That’s just one example of many throughout Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. See the promotion landing page link under “The Deal” to search for more eligible properties.

Nick,
When booking through Citi Concierge, do I have to pay with the Citi Prestige in order to qualify for the 4th night free benefit?
Yes.
Hey LJ – Citi says you do and I would. See the Complete Guide to the Citi Prestige 4th Night Free that I linked to in the post for full details.
You will not get points when booking through the Chase or Citi portals. You will get your points, stay credits, and benefits if you book over the phone with the concierge.
Good to know! So I could have gotten credit if I used my Citi. Points with booking with concierge?
No — but you don’t want to book with with your points anyway in most scenarios. Unless you’re getting more than 1cpp from the TY points, you’re better off booking with the Prestige Concierge over the phone and paying cash and then if you really wanted to use your TY points, just take a statement credit at 1cpp later on to rebate yourself. Then you’ll get your elite benefits, earn points on the entire 4 nights paid, get a rebate from Citi for the 4th night free, and wipe out the rest of the charge with TY points. That said, I wouldn’t usually prefer to use TY points at just 1 cent per point in value.
I just want to clarify. Are you saying that we can book via Chase concierge (but not portal) for cash stays and get points, stay credits, and elite benefits? If so, can we use UR at the $1.5/cent on CSR to do this as well (I know the redemption value is not necessarily worth it most times, but nevertheless I am asking).
If either of these are true with Chase and not just Citi, anyone have DP’s on which loyalty programs we know to properly credit, allow benefits to be used, etc?
In fact I would be curious if we have such DP’s for even Citi because that would increase my desire to aquure the Prestige.
Thanks!
Do you still get spg stay credits if you book with Citi Concierge? I book 4 nights at the sheraton at waikiki using both Chase portal and the citibank points portal. I did not get stay credit for those stays.
The rates under the Mastercard promo codes are higher (and sometimes MUCH higher) than the lowest member rate. I checked randomly and found prices that are 25-50% higher. Negates the presumed savings.
This is true. I went to Africa in October, and it was cheaper to book the best available rate rather than use this promo. Although I did still obviously use the fourth night benefit.
Any good way to stack if I need a 7 night stay?
Use Starpoints?
How can this work with Prestige when you need to use a booking code?
4th night Prestige only works when booked by Citi (Carlson WagonLit) and they don’t apply external codes, just what they see on their end.
It’s been a couple years since it was run by Carlson Wagonlit. I’ve used promo codes with them a number times. Generally, if it’s a publicly available promo code and not a package deal, they can apply it. You just have to call and ask. See the complete guide to the Citi Prestige 4th night free for the phone number to call the prestige concierge directly. Note that you can’t use promo codes if you’re trying to book online via the thank you portal. You must book through the prestige concierge. However, booking through the prestige concierge means you should also get your elite benefits, hotel points, and elite credit. Additionally, they rebate the fourth night free rather than giving it up front. This means you end up earning Starpoints on the entire room rate before rebate.
I wish they would do this promo for Asia
