For the third week in a row Staples is running a gift card promotion. This time they are bringing back their popular Visa gift card deal.

The Deal

Buy $300 or more of Visa® Gift Cards get a $20 Visa Prepaid Card via easy rebate.

Maximizing

Generally with these deals it is best to use a Chase Ink card to earn 5X Ultimate Rewards points or an Amex SimplyCash card to earn 5% cash back at Staples.

The Rebate

The rebate is done completely online and the prepaid Visa rebate card is generally PIN-enabled with the PIN being the last four digits of the card number. There have been some reports lately of the PIN not working any longer, so YMMV.

Key Terms

  • Deal valid from 11-06-2016 through 11-12-2016
  • In-store only.
  • Limit 1 rebate per household.

You can find the details of the promotion in their upcoming weekly ad.

This Week’s Deal

As a reminder, through Saturday Staples is running a $15 rebate promotion on Mastercard gift cards.

Does the purchase of gift cards at Staples count towards the spend required for the various rewards levels, i.e. Plus and Premier?

Rob P

My Staples only seems to order a handful of $200 Visas each week. Their loss.

Staples is cracking down on rebates. I had no problems in the past submitting my home and work address. My rebate for the last 20/300 was denied because of Max per household. After speaking a rep, they indicated that offer is valid per person/address. I will try again this next round with my wife submitting using our home address and I will use my work address. Common denominator on the 2 rebate submissions is the card so we’ll see what happens.

They will also have your IP addresses from all prior online submissions. If there’s any overlap, they’ll assume it’s the same person.
