Targeted Amex Offers on Hilton cards offering up to 136,500 bonus points with enough spend

4

Earlier today we shared how some Amex cardholders are being targeted with spending offers awarding a substantial number of bonus Membership Rewards points, with a better return on spend than normal.

It turns out it’s not only Membership Rewards-earning cards that are being targeted for these generous spending offers. Some Hilton cardholders are also eligible for Amex Offers that offer a decent reward when hitting spending thresholds.

Hilton Honors Surpass credit card

The Deals

  • There are the following Amex Offers available on targeted Hilton credit cards:
    • Earn 45,500 additional Hilton Honors Bonus Points after using your enrolled eligible Card to spend a minimum of $15,500 in one or more qualifying purchases, within 90 days after adding the offer, up to 3 times.
    • Earn 15,500 additional Hilton Honors Bonus Points after using your enrolled eligible Card to spend a minimum of $5,500 in one or more qualifying purchases, within 90 days after adding the offer, up to 3 times.
    • Earn 8,500 additional Hilton Honors Bonus Points after using your enrolled eligible Card to spend a minimum of $4,500 in one or more qualifying purchases, within 90 days after adding the offer, up to 3 times.

Key Terms

  • Expires December 31, 2026, although you only have 90 days to complete the spending once you’ve enrolled.
  • Purchases must be made in USD.
  • If you meet the offer requirements, the additional points will typically post to your account within 30 days after you make a qualifying purchase. In rare circumstances, it may take up to 90 days after the offer end date for additional points to post. Please call the number on the back of your Card if Hilton Honors Bonus Points have not posted to your account 30 days after you made the qualifying purchase.
  • Accounts that are canceled or past due at the time of fulfillment of the Offer will not receive the additional point(s) through this offer.

Quick Thoughts

These Amex Offers give an additional ~2X-3X return on your spend when hitting the spending thresholds.

If you’re targeted for one of these offers, it could prove to be very rewarding depending on the card you get it on. For example, let’s say you get the ‘Spend $15,500, get 45,500 bonus points, up to 3 times’ offer on a Hilton Honors American Express Surpass® card. That card earns 12X points on Hilton stays, 6X Hilton points at U.S. restaurants, U.S. supermarkets, and U.S. gas stations, 4X on U.S. online purchases, and 3X on all other spending.

If you happened to spend all $15,500 three times at locations earning 6X (which wouldn’t be too hard for some people to do given it includes supermarkets and gas stations), you’d earn the following:

  • 279,000 points (from the card’s standard 6X earning rate)
  • 136,500 points (from the Amex Offer)
  • 1 Hilton free night certificate (for spending $15K+ in a calendar year)
  • Hilton Honors™ Diamond status (for spending $40K+ in a calendar year)

That’s a total of 415,500 points plus a free night certificate; not at all shabby if you’re looking to rack up Hilton points and certificates.

Tell us how to earn those not so hard points,”which wouldn’t be too hard for some people to do given it includes supermarkets and gas stations” you spoke of. That is why your readers are here….tell us HOW, please.

I too would like to be one of those ‘SOME PEOPLE’

“some people” buy gift cards at supermarkets and gas stations…

As Kay said, a lot of leveraging the game is gift card purchases at grocery stores, gas stations, and office supply stores, whether that is just to get a higher multiplier on the chains you spend a lot of money at, to accumulate fuel points, or to engage in gift card reselling.

Don’t be mad that Stephen didn’t spoon feed you. A lot of this game is also doing your own research and developing your own strategy.
